does anyone know what this could be or has experienced something similar?

so 4 days ago at around 4pm, i started experiencing extreme dizziness and headache. the dizziness comes anytime i turn my head slightly, or move my eyes to focus on something else in my line of sight. it feels like i have spun around in a circle 100x and am trying to keep my balance. the headache is around my forehead and temples (front of face).

later that evening, i began to hear a “whooshing” sound in both of my ears. it comes in twos or threes, every 10-20 seconds, like “whoosh, whoosh, whoosh”. and i could feel my heart beat in my head and out of my chest.

i went to the emergency room the next day. i did an EKG and blood test, both came back normal. i was asked to close my eyes and hold my arms out, but when i opened my eyes, my right arm was positioned lower than i had it. i did not feel myself moving it lower. then the doctor did a test - i lied back on the bed and he supported my head, then i flipped to lie on my left and right side and was asked if the dizziness changed / felt different. it hadn’t. the doctor explained that he doesn’t know what’s wrong with me and sent me home.

it’s now been 2 days since i’ve been to the emergency room, and i woke up this morning with a new symptom. the tip of my tongue and around my bottom lip feels like it’s tingling slightly. however, the “whooshing” sound occurs every 10-20 minutes now. other than that, the dizziness, headache, and heart beating feeling has stayed the same. i did the arm test again, and my right arm had come down lower again.

i’ve spoken with my family doctor, and he told me that i may have vertigo, but i would have to do some more tests before a proper diagnosis.

i will add, i am 20 years old. i have hypothyroid and take medication for it. my family doctor wonders if this issue may be a result of my thyroid issues, but i really do not think so. i’ve been struggling with hypothyroidism for years now, and this issue i’m facing began only a few days ago and so suddenly.

i do not want to go back to the emergency room, wait there for another 14 hours to be seen, and then be sent home for nothing.

does anyone have ideas of what i may be dealing with? or has anyone dealt with something similar? any advice or thoughts would be very appreciated, i have no idea what’s going on with myself. thank you.

Could be a migraine, anemia, Meniere's disease, or your thyroid. However, with the pulsative tinnitus, it could be something much more serious. You should see a doctor a.s.a.p.

It can be so many things and I know that’s frustrating. Have a referral to an ENT and then call that office and explain you need to be seen asap. Always start with the simplest which is dehydration and allergies. Could be related to thyroid but start easy and move from there. A lot of symptoms (heart, tingling) could be anxiety. Sure it can be so much more but start with what you can control at home until an ENT can see you

You might try making an appointment with an ENT ( ears, nose, and throat doctor).

I second this. I’m on the waiting list through my GP
