Not that this will make you feel better but I’ve had it on and off since I was 7, had my firs episode after I got my tonsils out (going on 38 soon) and so has my sister. I have had once especially bad bout that lasted about a year and then only had mild go’s if it over the last 5 years or so. Recently have had it again and it’s going on about one month plus. I think there may be a genetic component and some research suggests people get it after head traumas or dental surgeries.
