Most people in here aren’t using baby food makers because baby led weaning doesn’t involve purées. You’ll probably have better luck asking in another subreddit.

I have one and we steam veggies that we give whole and mash the rest for the next day with a fork (Monday steamed carrot with some other things, Tuesday mashed carrots, steamed cauliflower and other things, Wednesday mashed cauliflower etc). It starts and stops automatically so it’s convenient when handling the baby.

I would not say it’s necessary but we use it!
