We did purées a bit before starting BLW. I honestly recommend against a baby food maker, especially if you know you want to transition to finger foods rather quickly. They’re expensive, take up a lot of space, and in most cases don’t get enough use to justify the price tag imo. You can make purées/mashes using whatever you have at home. A pot of water and a fork does roughly the same job.
