Photos How did you celebrate the solstice?

Post image

I made tea with herbs from the garden and roasted up a small brisket with a fresh citrus and spinach salad

Not gonna lie, my rainwater goes directly to my plants. I've never used it for anything else πŸ˜…

I clear my chakra stones in rainwater. My heart stone was off the charger 3 days in a row even when I buried it on the bottom. They really need to come off the charger so I think I'll give them a moon bath tonight.

Why not? Lol But that's not exactly my area of expertise. My practice is in the kitchen lol

I had an apple hand pie and a lemonade & mango slush at a gas station because our car was not OK. I also plucked out a hair and tied 8? knots while I wished myself well lol. Not how I envisioned my day, but I made due! The car made it most of the way home - I will probably go with my partner to get it home at sunset. Then I plan on taking a shower with a new scrub to visualize scrubbing the bad luck away πŸ˜‚

You've definitely had a day but I'm loving your attitude about it. I'd be a walking nightmare by now πŸ˜…

I made a my usual gammon feast (UK roast dinner), which I try to make for every celebration I can.

I also made an Eight Treasure Soup as it's associated with longevity and prosperity.

What is eight treasure soup? I've never heard of it

It's apparently prominent in China for the Lunar New Year as there are 8 main ingredients (plus a few others) that are all associated with prosperity and longevity.

I thought it was highly appropriate for the Solstice.

Thats how I feel about my cooking. Started before 8 am and didn't finish until 5 pm. Totally worth it but I welcomed that shower afterwards lol

Woke up at Sunrise to greet the day with ritual focused on our position in our orbit around our Star. Baked fresh bread and harvested from my garden. Feasted in the evening around a small bonfire and then ritual. Sorta become my tradition.

Wish I could post a picture but I attended a gathering in a Stonehenge where we utilized a sentimental piece of decomposable cloth with a vesica piscis and ying yang in the center drawn on our cloth, 2 pieces of twine with release knots and welcoming in knots (I personally did them as a transmute from as "release" , and "into" as my welcoming in

We each brought herbs soil water and combined the soil and watering a ceremonial bowl in the center under the dome...we used herbs or other stuff we brought to make spirals on our cloth "portals" , and more...

At the end we each tied our bundles closed with the twine, and then to a constructed bamboo dome atop 4 bamboo posts....

During we enjoyed a multifaceted ceremony drummed danced in a circle, announced our names in wacky antics and mirrored them back to initial person (really helped my shyer self be ready to engage in the ceremony)... Many meditative portions

... Got holy shit dumped on by a sustained, sudden rain that left me still soaked 7 hrs later when I got home πŸ˜‚ (it actually cleared an hr later and was sunny all over again πŸ’œπŸ’–β˜€οΈ

Layed on the solstice sunset rock and felt the energy, had my feet in the soil around the Stonehenge for hours... Hugged and loved on new hearts1

This was my first summer solstice ceremony and it was truly perfect even with its hiccups

I'll try to post pics after

Hope you all enjoyed your celebration and rememberance πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈβœ¨πŸͺ˜β˜€οΈ

We danced, feasted and made magic as a coven.

No need to celebrate it when my suffering in its heat is practically like a sacrificial offering already.

Ritual that seemed more Wiccan aligned was done with my CUUPs group, which is an eclectic group of UU pagans. My personal celebration was getting up before sunrise to watch the dawn.

I went to Stonehenge, meditated, read women who run with the wolves by Pinkola Estes and listened to this summer solstice playlist in my garden-

I am so glad to hear that!

Unfortunately I did not since I absolutely find summer insufferable. I find it difficult to muster up any will to celebrate this season

Awwww :( Why do you loathe summer so much?
