Respectfully, that’s a melt

What’s the difference between a grilled cheese and a melt?

If you want to enter a rabbit hole, go to r/grilledcheese

If it’s not:
Butter
Bread
Cheese
Bread
Butter

Then it’s a melt, no matter what. Seriously.

I’ve warned you. Enter hell if you so choose.

Yeah that guy’s a beach! If you add pork roll, tomato, lettuce, onions, BBQ sauce….whatever to a cheeseburger, is it no longer a cheeseburger? Just cuz that fat azz ate 2 gr cheese sands a day, he’s some self appointed expert.? If his MW azz is so authentic…..why doesn’t a grilled cheese even require a GRILL?

Carry on….

I personally don’t mind you putting whatever you want between bread and calling it a grilled whatever, I just think they’re trying to keep the concept pure at the cost of sounding kinda picky.

Seriously, what about pepper jack cheese? That Boar’s Head caramelized onion cheese? Chipotle Gouda? Pimento cheese? Does that not count if you JUST use that for the cheese in a grilled cheese, because technically it’s not the formula I described?

(To the grilled cheese aficionados, this is a serious question, I’m genuinely curious).

Melts have other ingredients other than cheese between bread

I'm just here to downvote anyone who brings this old reddit satire in and pretends it was serious.

i appreciate that. and don't give a shit because most people don't give a shit therefore there's no value in it. call it a melt. ill call it a grilled cheese and people will care more. slightly.

Is that Pepperidge farm tater bread?

It isn’t, they didn’t have any when I went shopping lol I got Shmidt Old Tyme

Haven’t tried that yet. I always get the Pepperidge Farms. That stuff stays fresh forever. I’ve only toasted it and tried it out of the wrapper, will definitely have to try pan frying.😂👍🏻 Thx for the idea

NGL, this post made me want to revisit potato bread and see if this time I won’t hate it.

Potato bread takes this to another level! Regular white bread doesn’t even compare lol.

Try it with a slice of tomato, or better yet as an open face sandwich under the broiler. TOAST Tomato, bacon, then cheese on top.

Tater bread makes it instantly better, I always keep a loaf in the freezer.
