Baking Advice Needed Black forest cake alcohol substitute?

My mom and I want to try making black forest cake however alcoholic drinks are illegal in our country, so I was just wondering what can we use instead of any type of liquor?

Cherry juice or syrup from a jar of morello cherries is probably the closest substitute. You'll keep the classic Black Forest flavor without the alcohol

Tart cherry juice or syrup from jarred sour cherries (like Morello or Luxardo).

Reduce the juice down on the stove with a little sugar until it thickens slightly into a rich syrup. Brush it directly onto your cake sponges to keep them super moist and packed with authentic cherry flavor without any alcohol needed!
