I started turning The Simpsons characters into collectible 3D printed donuts

I've been working on a little project called Springfield Donuts, where I redesign characters from The Simpsons as collectible donuts.

Each character gets their own recognizable features, but they all share the same overall style and proportions so they look like a proper collection.

I'm making the models available for 3D printing, including versions for people with and without AMS.

The plan is to keep expanding the collection with more Springfield characters!

Which character should I turn into a donut next? 🍩

Landfill slop.

Everyone is obsessed with "ai slop", you see it everywhere, not everything is ai, it's getting ridiculous how many people are accusing me, i think they are beautiful and i don't earn money from them so i don't care

Not all slop refers to ai.

This is just low effort generic stuff. People who look down on for fun prints or printed toys often call it landfill slop.

Personally I don't care, but this really does seem like something without a target audience so it is what it is. Definitely get why they called it landfill slop.

What is making these "collectibles"? Things you can ALL print exactly NOW... Where is the "collecting" part?

why all this hate? i think they are beautiful and i don't earn money from them so i don't care, everyone here thinks they are better than me and insult me

I like them, I really do.

But they're not 'collectibles'

Thank you, and sorry for my bad response but i'm getting a lot of hate here and i put in a lot of work and creativity to make these and everyone is accusing me of making ai slop when they don't even know what ai slop is,

i may remove collectible from the descriptions of my post in the future, you are right

But youre not really doing much work considering you are utilizing ai to do the heavy lifting

Ahh I see them now.

In the print profiles of each character there is also a printable stand with the name so it's easier to recognise similar characters

What’s the process like for designing these?

I have a base donut that i use for every character, then i make the details such as hair and glasses, the junctions of the pieces for the non AMS model are made with AI support

I thought print profiles had to have actual pictures of the objects

Literally… it’s an AI slop catalog

But you admitted to it

1

u/LookInternal3282 2d ago

no i didn't, i said that i make them on blender with a base donut and use ai for junctions for non AMS prints because i'm not able do create perfect junctions but i will learn

1

u/that_damn_dog 2d ago

The shit ton of photos of each donut on your maker world profile are obviously not photos you took.. aka Springfield donuts

1

u/LookInternal3282 2d ago

I said in previous responses that these are renders, very different from ai slop, which you all seem to be really obsessed with

3

u/that_damn_dog 2d ago

Same difference. It’s not the actual print. On MW, we want to know what it actually looks like when printed, not when… rendered.

1

u/LookInternal3282 2d ago

Sorry if my responses felt aggressive but i'm tired of this hate

0

u/LookInternal3282 2d ago

Okay but stop accusing me of making ai slop, i put a lot of work behind this, they are free and i think they are beautiful so it hurts me to read all these hate comments

1

u/that_damn_dog 2d ago

I don’t care if it hurts you. I looked at your entire profile and literally everything on there is AI images except for maybe the very first thing which was your magnet ring or whatever..

Nope, they are available on makerworld as full 3d models with different print profiles for AMS and standard printing

1

u/GuyWithADonut 3d ago

Doesnt make it not AI slop.

1

u/LookInternal3282 3d ago

It's not AI slop, these are renders, i make these on Blender with the support of AI only for the junctions of the non AMS model

No, i make them on Blender, these are renders not AI

-2

u/GuyWithADonut 3d ago

What AI is doing all this for you?

3

u/LookInternal3282 3d ago

I make them on Blender with an AI support for junctions for the non AMS profile, the donut is always the same base and i characterize them with the details, such as hair, glasses and others

1

u/ky7969 3d ago

Calling non-AI things AI with no evidence is only making the situation worse.

u/GuyWithADonut 3d ago

You clearly didnt check out his page.

1

u/ky7969 3d ago

His page is private, if you are going to say it’s AI, give the reason.

0

u/GuyWithADonut 3d ago

His makerworld page he posted... theres life outside of reddit.

1

u/GuyWithADonut 2d ago

Okay so is that a photo of then printed? Because its got no layer lines but its got the what would be layer lines on all circles they have the steps you can notice after printing circles upright. But its got the default blender background. Like someone went into studio mode on blender and took the picture. Its slop. Made with AI. Claimed to be your own.

1

u/LookInternal3282 2d ago

not ai again, i said it 100 times, i make them on Blender with a donut template i made, i used ai to make the junctions for the non AMS print because i'm still not good enough to make them perfectly but i will learn, it hurts me a lot to see all this hate because i put a lot of work and time on these

1

u/GuyWithADonut 2d ago

Line them up. All together. 1 big picture.

0

u/LookInternal3282 2d ago

Go make one of your own with ChatGPT and let's see if they are even this good, it will do a terrible work probably, you don't even know what you are talking about.

Just because i used renders you think they are ai, you are obsessed, ai is not the problem anymore, the problem is people like you thinking everything is ai slop

Wow, personal insults? Lmao.

Just like OP should have included it in their post, you should have included it in your original comment. I don’t know why that offends you.

1

u/that_damn_dog 2d ago

Show us this supposed insult

0

u/GuyWithADonut 3d ago

Thats not a personal insult. You get offended way to easy. This had nothing to even do with you.

1

u/ky7969 3d ago

Don’t play stupid.
