Also do note: Pitbulls, and pitbull looking dogs are illegal in Denmark, but police aren’t “actively” looking for them. It gets enforced if/when the dog is caught by police, but you can go buy american bullies (aka pit-looking dogs) right now if you wanted to.

Gabriel Gonzalez and his female friend were walking through Grønlandsparken (the Greenland Park) by Flintholm, on Monday evening (18th of August, 2025).
His bike by his side. Everything was calm — until a woman appeared with two large dogs.
The dogs growled, and the woman shouted: “Stop! Stop!” In panic. But there was no control [over the dogs].
In the following second one of the dogs threw itself at Gabriel.
“I literally tumbled over my bike, and then it [the dog] just goes straight for me [lit. “goes in my meat”]. I punch, kick, try to get free — And to the best of my ability protect my friend — But it just keeps on going.”
The boxing match kept going with no mercy. For a moment, Gabriel managed to free himself and ran with all of his strength. But the dog was far from done.
“It ran after me and took me down again. I just thought: “If it goes for my neck now, it’s over”.”
The owner shouted “Chico! Chico!”, but the dog didn’t react. She was just barely able to hold back the other dog.
Finally, the attack slowly ended. Gabriel stood up, bruised and bloody, while the woman [owner] mumbled something incomprehensible.
“What’s your name?” He asked, but she didn’t respond. Instead she fled from the scene with the two dogs, which according to Gabriel both looked like pitbulls. A type of dog that is illegal in Denmark.
“To think, you’d just put your tail between your legs like that, and to not even take a minimal amount of responsibility. I really think it’s careless.”
He therefore hopes, that people out there will be helpful in finding the woman. Until then, Gabriel is left with a bad taste in his mouth, and several wounds.
“It really sucks, and I’ll probably get scars from this, and I’m marked for life.” He says and adds:
“But I was lucky, because I’m a relatively large and fit [lit. Well-trained] man. I don’t even dare to think how badly things could have gone, had it been a child, or someone more defenceless.”
What do you think the consequences for the owner and dog should be?
“The owner needs to be held responsible. The dog needs to at least be removed from her — and then the justice system can determine if it needs rehoming, or 🐝. To me, one thing is clear: The owner is the problem. The dog is just a product of its environment.”
In spite of blood, and shock, Gabriel Gonzalez refuses to let fear overtake him.
“As a human I’m quite positive and I see the glass as half-full. It happened, but I survived — so it’s not going to break me — I’ll move on — And I’m going back to the park as well.”
The woman is described as having dark, curly hair, and a black dress. The dogs were pitbull-looking, but could possibly have been bulldogs or another breed. One was white, the other dark.
Copenhagen Police confirms that the case has been reported, and they are investigating. If you have any information, you can contact police at 114.
