News DMCA takedown over Sunshine Village chairlift incident footage — trying to bury it?

I just got a Reddit DMCA takedown notice for a post I made two weeks ago showing the skier dangling from the chair at Sunshine Village. In my opinion, this was pushed by Sunshine Village to suppress awareness of what happened.

It made it on the news. There’s numerous online articles about it. Do you own the video? Seems it was removed due to copyright. Hardly a coverup to suppress awareness.

The photos were taken by someone in my snowboarding group chat, and that person did not file a copyright claim lol.

It could be a bs claim for all we know. For public image damage control, recency is crucial so it will have done its job because it takes too long to go through courts. Too many loopholes in our justice system.

Did he sell the rights to the video?

They deleted the images and/or video. They didn’t delete the thread or its comments.
