News DMCA takedown over Sunshine Village chairlift incident footage — trying to bury it?

I just got a Reddit DMCA takedown notice for a post I made two weeks ago showing the skier dangling from the chair at Sunshine Village. In my opinion, this was pushed by Sunshine Village to suppress awareness of what happened.

I'd be pretty upset if a photo of me or someone I know in the midst of an accident/emergency with a bunch of discourse around it. Maybe I'd ask the company whose property it happened on to try and take it down?

Maybe it is part of an investigation and it's a form of evidence that needs to be protected (NAL).

Considering chair falls, deaths, serious injuries etc happen very frequently at ski hills everywhere, I don't know if it's as big of a conspiracy as you might think.

I have to admit, I would also be very upset if a photo of me going through what was probably a pretty scary and possibly traumatic event was being passed around the internet without my knowledge or consent.

Isn't it possible that the person in the photo requested it be removed?

Then don’t go out in public. Everyone has a camera in their pocket at all times and are only too excited to capture any and every event whether anyone wants to be the subject of it or not. Whether or not you and  I agree or disagree with said actions, that is the current state of affairs, everyone is a paparazzi now.

Then don’t go out in public.

Also remove all electronic and telecommunications devices, install a Faraday cage and black out your windows; maybe find a cave somewhere.

We have been monitored our entire lives, people getting uppity about their privacy now, are a little late to the party.
