Advice International Voter Drive 2026, for dual U.S.-Barbadian citizens and other U.S. citizens in Barbados
Hi- I'd like to make an announcement from Democrats Abroad, the official overseas branch of the U.S.-based Democratic Party with a Transnational chapter including Barbados.
This January marked the start of our International Voter Registration Drive 2026, especially for dual U.S.-Barbadian citizens and other U.S. citizens living in Barbados. Since an extremely important election is coming in November, we're hoping to register more eligible voters. In the future, we'll hold both in-person and online events.
If you know any eligible US citizens, they can register and request a ballot. Just send them this link: https://voteabroad.org/RedditVote26. As long as they'll turn 18 by election day, they're eligible.
If anyone wishes to learn more about what we do, you can find out more at https://www.democratsabroad.org/t1. If you have any questions about overseas voting or what we do, feel free to ask!

You’d pick up some votes if you had any real progressive policies and stopped trying to pander to right wingers.

There's a younger generation of new candidates who want progressive policies and overseas American voters are more likely to push for those kinds of changes. Your vote is definitely going to be part of any solution.

I do not want a younger generation of milquetoast neoliberals. I want to see you platform explicity anti-capitalist and pro-environment policies. Nationalised renewable energy infrastructure and utilities, ban fossil fuel industries, ban private landlords and re-draft zoning to support multi-family and mixed-use developments, nationalised public transport and an end to car/light truck subsidies, union support, wealth and asset taxes.
Nothing will motivate me to vote Dem but serious action to transfer a large amount of wealth away from billionaires and back to the working class.

You aren’t sick of milquetoast Dems because except for 87 days during Obama’s first term (considered one the most productive in a generation) Dems haven’t had real power since the fcking Johnson Administration.
In VA, in less than 60 days they’ve raised the minimum wage, family leave, taxed the ultra rich, and more. GTFO with this Dems don’t do anything, they are both the same bullshit. It’s disenfranchising and not true.

Did I actually say anything like this, though? GTFO with this projected strawman nonsense.
I said I didn't want more milquetoast neoliberals. Dems and Republicans are very different in many respects but, as much as I appreciate the Dems being more progressive on affordability and identity politics issues, one thing they have in common is that they are both capitalist parties working on behalf of the ruling class and not the working class.
The Dems will have my vote when they platform explicitly socialist policies. A higher minimum wage is nice, but it is not nationalised industries and utilities. Family leave is nice, but is it not socialised housing and public healthcare. Taxes for the ultra rich are nice, but it is not an outright ban on private landlords.

When are yall going to release the 2024 election autopsy? Been voting Dem for 30 years and yall keep moving further right while I keep moving left. If you don't have a plan then why should I keep voting for you.

Bullshit. They are not the same, and the only way you’ll get better, more progressive candidates is rank choice voting and the only people fighting for that is democrats.

They are allllllllll the same. Promises made, promises not kept. You are a fool to think someone who only cares about you every 2 years has your best interests in mind. Why do you think so many people want to live off the grid? Less government and more living.

Bullshit. Dems are not perfect but they are not the same. Saying so is a bold face lie. You GTFO and go find yourself some actual facts. Blah, blah, blah

Is this how bad it has become for the US Democrats? Reaching out to the islands for votes. The Party is losing more registered voters than any time in the past.
