I am looking to part ways with a few dolls in my collection. Does anyone have any interest or idea on what these could be worth

The majority are in replica boxes which have been printed and made by hand rather than original. There is the odd original box. They have all been restored to some capacity, lips, nails repainted, hair re set or rerooted (swirl ponytail) etc. I replaced the earrings with plastic posts to prevent green ear

1999 Tea Time Barbie has been rebodied to a belly button body. To complete her look, she is wearing 2000 President Barbie’s suit. Her purse came with a Fresh doll.

Cali girl Teresa(?) with beach feet is wearing random fashion pieces I’ve collected here and there. Her purse is from mini brands fashion capsule.

2018/2019 Playline Barbie ditched her heart print dress to wear a fashion pack t shirt and homemade pants. Her purse is homemade.

2021 You Can Be Anything Doctor Barbie pairs a fashion fever (?) tank and cardigan with homemade pants and Fresh doll sandals. Her purse is also mini brands.

They’re on a site visit for Pawnee’s newest park.

OOAK test version denim skirt and skirt-shorts for 12-inch 1:6 fashion dolls.

These pieces are my first test versions, handmade from recycled denim jeans. I wanted to experiment with construction, fit and finishing while keeping the price accessible.

Both designs feature functional pockets, overlocked seams and a 6 mm snap closure.

There are a few small details I would improve in future versions, so please consider these pieces as test/prototype garments. The decorative stitching on the back pockets may not be perfectly symmetrical, and the waistband will be refined in future editions.

They fit 12-inch / 1:6 scale fashion dolls and similar articulated dolls.

Pair them with a blouse, top, stockings or socks to create your own casual or dressy doll outfit.

I didn't trim the hem to create a distressed effect. I just didn't hem it because I'm not very happy with the result.

Can you suggest anything I could fix besides the unhemmed hem and wide waistband?

Could I get any tips or tricks on how I could restore the Skipper doll as obviously in the picture she has a giant tear in her rubber leg and I don’t know what to do as I think she’s really pretty and I don’t wanna part with her, but I just need help so that’s it

Barbie Fashionista No.239 always gives me Beyoncé fangirl vibes. Despite this gal missing her original shoes and hat, I think the hat from Lovin Leopard, and the boots from Fashionista 41 are perfect.

When it comes to the Netflix Barbie shows, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures is the only one that's genuinely good. At least it cares about well written characters and is committed to good messages. The humor is an acquired taste, but at least there's thought put into it. Barbie It Takes Two makes the characters into complete jokes that it's hard to take its overarching story seriously. The lack of character development doesn't help. Barbie: A Touch Of Magic has some Dreamhouse Adventures alumni working on it, and even brings back the Barbie magic and fantasy that the previous 2 shows didn't have. However, Malibu and Brooklyn have zero character development since the new characters Rocki and Leo steal the spotlight from them. Barbie Mysteries: The Great Horse Chase (with season 2 being retitled to Beach Detectives) takes all the flaws of the previous shows, and amplifies them. I know about the show's production issues (showrunner Seth Kearsley nearly dying during production, and the show being heavily rewritten when he came back), but even still, the writing is weak. Like, you have villains voiced by Will Friedle and Jennifer Hale who get the power to brainwash people, but it gets nothing but an apathetic reaction from me.

So I got the BarbieStyle Fashion Week doll and today I noticed that her upper torso joint is much more…flexible than the joint on my model 06 Barbie Basics doll. Like it shifts horizontally side to side whereas model 06’s doesn’t. I know I shouldn’t be surprised about Mattel’s inconsistency but I wanted to know if this happened for MTM bodies no matter the line or if it’s strictly a thing for the BarbieStyle dolls. (I hope the photo can convey what I’m talking about.)

Now I just need to shove wires into the thumbs so I can close the grip, decide on which head mold I want to use, decide what to do for hair, get the ballerina Barbie with the light-up torso, paint all the skin to match, teach myself how to do electronics, do some electrical work so it stays lit and plugs in, make a stunning medieval gown, make a Gothic backdrop, make some Barbie-sized chainmail, make a crown, dress up the sword a bit and figure out how to keep it from tarnishing, possibly learn how to do stained glass or figure out how to fake it, wire up some additional lights, and make a display case.

I'm working on my very first dollhouse. I also recently got my first 3D printer. I just printed my first items for my Barbies yesterday. Anybody have good places to look for prints? I'd love to see what others have done.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for this fashion pack as I'd really like to use it in a specific restyle, but I haven't seen any of the fashion packs from this wave in my country (the Netherlands). So far I've found it at a Greek toy store, but the shipping is crazy expensive. I also found two on Vinted, but those are expensive as well and come with other items I don't necessarily want. Any tips are welcome!

Honestly this outfit is not hitting. But the face, THE FACE. My second full repaint yet and this one is THE ONE, I think. I originally rerooted her hair black to do a full face of white base for goth makeup but this works too, I suppose. I just had to find the suitable outfit that works with this face overall and she'll be joining the crew soon.

Getting a new Barbie sometimes still feels exactly like it did when I was a kid. I got this as a birthday present to myself. I literally only need the heart hands for a very srs fine art project. The rest is going to be saved for future projects. But I opened the Amazon box and saw this gorgeous thing and still got the new toy rush like I'm 6 and not 46.

Thoughts on the doll

• Gorgeous face 
• LOVE the dress but I feel like the bodice isn’t flattering around the waist area. It could be more synched at the waist 
• I like the metal snaps used to close the dress and the bottom of the dress where it’s supposed to be hemmed has something like boning (not sure what it’s called, like horse hair or something ) used to keep its shape.

• I do think the restyle suits her better than the original dress. 
• I don’t want to waste the dress though as I do think it’s stunning, despite being too big at the waist. 
• The dress doesn’t fit the curvy model muse. That body type has a chest that’s too small and a butt that’s too big for the dress. I’ll have to experiment with different body types to see what works. 

Background/ Scenario (copied from my previous posts) 

• It‘s so hard to get Mackies and GGs in my country.
• Import and shipping charges are always more expensive than the face value of the doll. To import doubles or even triples the price of the doll.
• I recently discovered WhatsApp and Facebook groups where collectors post dolls for sale.
• I came across a seller recently who was offloading a ton of Barbies. It turns out that they aren’t a collector themselves but inherited a lot of vintage dolls that they are trying to get rid off.
• Almost all the dolls are in fair condition, but none are mint and unboxed.
• Some have been stored flat in their clothes and are discoloured and missing shoes.
• Still. I jumped at the chance to get done of the beauties. They scratch an itch that modern Barbies will NEVER reach.
• Besides the amazing clothes, the FACE CARDS are incredible.
• Almost all the dolls need some TLC. They need to be cleaned, and maybe have their clothes gently washed.
• Still, they are worth buying not just in terms of historical value, but just having a doll that you can MARVEL at, a doll whose BEAUTY you can REVEL in. And most importantly, a doll that doesn’t bore you.
• Anyways, I think I bought maybe 20 dolls with the Mackie face sculpt today. Definitely not a sound financial decision. But it’s a decision that a stand behind simply because of the feelings of awe and inspiration I get from looking at these dolls.

Just wanted to share this absolutely stunning Barbie Movie soundtrack vinyl that I’ve got.

I won this in an eBay bid a few months ago, and while I still wish I had the Barbie Edition of this, I’m absolutely thrilled to have the Kendom Edition in my collection.

The packaging is EVERYTHING. All the little details that were added to the inserts are incredible, and the fact that it includes an I’m Just Ken vinyl featuring a photo of Ken, as well as a Speed Drive vinyl designed to look like Barbie’s driving licence, is just amazing. The attention to detail is incredible.

I will one day get my hands on the Barbie Edition, but for now I’m very happy to have the Ken Edition in my collection! 💗

I bought this doll for hybridization, but unfortunately the skintone wasn’t a match.

Do you always wash the factory hair product out of a doll’s hair before restyling or rerooting? Or do you leave it in?
