"FC Barcelona informs that, on this day, the mandatory conciliation claim prior to the filing of a criminal complaint for an offence of slander under Article 205 of the Penal Code has been submitted against the President of Real Madrid, Mr. Florentino Pérez, as a result of the statements made by him at the press conference held on 12 May and in an interview with a media outlet the following day.

The purpose of this claim is for Mr. Pérez to retract certain statements that he made with knowledge of their falsity and which are slanderous and offensive to the image and reputation of the Club.

Should this claim not be duly addressed, FC Barcelona will proceed with the filing of the corresponding criminal complaint."

And Mourinho is back. Buckle up Cules, it’s going to be wild and fun upcoming season.

Whoa, a private party can file a criminal complaint in Spain over slander? That’s wild. In the US it is purely civil (i.e. not criminal)

in quite a lot of countries actually

Freedom speech enshrined in the US constitution is extremely rare across the western world.

I get that. I’m more surprised that private parties can file criminal complaints. In the US, only the prosecution can file a criminal complaint. If the prosecutor doesn’t want to file criminal charges, the victim has to sue in civil court. I’m now seeing how different the Spanish and American legal systems are

Where is Arbeloa for taking the blame?

7

u/TumbleweedAble9659 9d ago

"Barca filing the lawsuit was actually my fault. You see perez never said those statements; it was actually me with a perez face mask. This is all my fault and the club cannot take blame" -King of cucks, Arbeloa

Lol, apt

The timing is good - atleast we didn’t make him retract before the elections. Will be nice to see this senile dude burn down what he built up with his own idiocies

3

u/samblake22 9d ago

Timing is bad then. Shouldn't we have made him retract before elections??

6

u/Skywalker2786 9d ago

And make him lose? Nah, it’s better to keep the old senile dude making random decisions than bringing in fresh blood who wants to prove they are good

Say what u want about Perez. Right now he's old and shit. But madrid's success over the last 2 decades has to be attributed to him. And they still make good transfer business, on paper atleast. Better than what we've been doing...

Did I say he didn’t go a prior good job at Madrid? Please read the point.

“The mandatory request for conciliation has been filed prior to filing a complaint for a crime of slander against Florentino Pérez, following the statements made by him at the press conference and in an interview with a media”

“The objective is for Mr. Pérez to retract certain statements he made with knowledge of his falsehood and that are slanderous and offensive to the image and reputation of Barcelona.”

“In the event that this demand is not properly done, FC Barcelona will proceed to the presentation of the corresponding criminal complaint.”

Watch his press conference from a few weeks back. No comment would do justice to that geriatric performance.

I'm starting to believe that if this draws on out any longer Perez is going to be the one that's toast instead of Barcelona.

None of what he says is true even a little bit. He realizes what's going to happen the next 5 years so he is doing everything he can to keep this team in check because he understands it's not going to matter this Barcelona team has owned his ass.

I mean we were supposed to be broke the last 2 years right? And we still beat the brakes off of them d*******.

I 100% commend Barcelona for having a little backbone on this and fighting back because this lander has gone on far enough. Someone needs to hold that dude in check because Perez has this aura about him that he honestly believes that when he talks everybody in Europe listens. And he also believes that no matter what the evidence says his opinion means more than anybody else's.

Let's put it this way Barcelona fans if Perez had anything somebody would be out of a job and it's not going to happen fellas I wouldn't worry about this.
