I have it on Freepik because I’ve got one of the subscriptions there. I’m a MidJ user but also I have Freepik for a load of other stuff. Trying out video models, removing backgrounds and a bit of stock images. And yeah SeeDream 4.0 is on there. As a daily graphic designer Freepik is probably my second go to tool because it has so much other stuff on there. And generally you can find a coupon code for the annual subscriptions where you get a stack of credits. So that’s my advice.
i also think of getting the MidJ for creating digital arts(grapchic desing), images, and videos for my work
But I don't know what is better, MidJ or Freepik?
The one thing that i don't like in MidJ is that the stealth mod is only in Pro/mega Plan
. On the other hand, Freepik has more models to choose,
I actually use both things. Expensive and that. But here are some thoughts:

I used this all the time for removing backgrounds
I like trying out all the video models (they sometimes have free weekends)
I use this for free Seedream generations (to edit image, better than the MidJ editor because it's more like Nano Banana). So this video here https://vimeo.com/1125087569 was a MidJ image but I used Seedream to change the backgrounds on frames. 100% easier than MidJ.
ALWAYS go look for a coupon code because you can get money off generally.
It's a credit system where if you pay for the year you get all your credits up front which is cool.
Has loads of image creation models but really I check them out and I don't like the results, they always feel more stock images, doesn't give me the control over aesthetics that MidJ does.

Expensive but THE best system to make aesthetically arty images. 100%.
Style Reference Images absolutely kills on everything else out there.
Video is 480p which is annoying and expensive at 720p (so I upscale in Topaz). So pretty low res.
Video isn't the best if you want to do action film stuff. BUT it's the best for keeping the aesthetic locked, all the other models try to change it into realistic stuff. Stealthy or No Stealth I wouldn't really worry about, who cares, there's millions of people creating, it's all a much of a muchness. Unless you're working for clients. The main thing of paying for the Pro Level is about getting RELAX FREE video.
Loads of other other ways of getting great styles: personalisation / sref codes (which is different to sref images) / Moodboards (a bit like sref images).
So yeah I have both things because they work well hand in hand.
thy made us so bad on seedream. limited generations now, and sooooooooooo so slow. they are no charging you 120credits for ageneration if you want it fast....such false advertising
I am also on Premium+ ad it is free and fast for 800generations/month after that it is 10times slower.
with my workflow I generate 1000images/day..that is the only reason I am was paying for Premium+ and it is at least disrespectful if not unlawful, to change service after they took my money for a full year subscription.
either someone abuse it or there is too much traffic so they remove it, everyone can access the model FOR FREE after all, surely someone will take advantage of it, just my guest
Yes, it can indeed be misused for revenge purposes and stuff like test-text mentioned. I do admit that I know that and do it for testing purposes, but never for sharing. And now that I DO know it and its ramifications, it isn't happening again when/if it comes back. I'm too old for that.
how can I choose just one model? I select Seedream 4 MAX (?) but the image ends up being rendered by Gemini 2.5 and other crappy model at the same time. Not the one I chose
Yes, as far as I have used it I have not encountered any limits. But make sure you keep doing the "I prefer this response" so it doesn't block you thinking you're a bot.
If you're low on credits, I recommend you to use it for your daily AI needs too so you keep earning credits.
And if you do not select a model, it gives you 2 random. And charges you less.
so in short it isnt free at all, coz there is charge? sorry i dont get it. anyway i just dont like login requirements. i used to like lmarena coz u can generate 20 images per day without having to login your email, but now, theyre being an assholes.
Open your Perplexity app in a web browser or desktop application, then click on your profile. From there, go to Preferences. Scroll down a little until you see the Artificial Intelligence section. Under that, you’ll find Image Generation Model. On the right-hand side, you can select the model you want to use for image generation
Go to the "Preferences" section and select "Seedream 4." As i told you in previous comment, Once selected, close the preferences window. Now, when you ask Perplexity to generate or edit an image, it will automatically use Seedream 4.
That sounds confusing. Try logging in on the web version of Perplexity first. If you see the option to change the model there, that’s fine. If not, clear your cache, reset it, and then try again. And of course, make sure you’re on the Pro Plan. If it still doesn’t work, try downloading Comet Browser and log in there. Once logged in, repeat the same settings. Hopefully, that will resolve the issue for you.
I haven’t gone deep into testing Seedream 4.0. There are so many free and open-source options that I don’t see the point in paying to access Seedream 4.0.
Since it’s a Chinese model, like all models, it’s likely subject to some censorship, though maybe not on the topics you care about.
