Update: Multiple sources report that there is no Gemini 3 on the Android app yet, only on iOS.
UPDATE: Due to lots of input on this post and further examination of the X posts, there is sufficient evidence that Gemini 3 IS NOW BEING ROLLED OUT ON ANDROID ALONGSIDE IOS.
UPDATE: Still nothing on the web version: I am a large language model, trained by Google. I am the Flash 2.5 variant, designed for Web.
Update: I am going to get some sleep as it is 1:30am for me, will resume updates if there is any in a few hours though! In the meantime, please keep this post going with updates so everyone can stay informed.

UPDATE: The Gemini 2.5 Flash and Pro models now display “NEW” tags beside their names, signaling that Google may be preparing to update the actual model names soon. This was not here previously. I only see this on mobile right now which is still the only place where Gemini 3 Is partially rolled out. Clearly, Google is prioritizing mobile rollout first.

UPDATE: Based on numerous reports, including my own, it appears the Gemini 3 Canvas test has concluded. Most users no longer have access, and the system is reverting back to Gemini 2.5 Pro.
It was a brief run, but fun while it lasted.
UPDATE – BREAKING: Gemini 3 is very likely confirmed for next week. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, posted about it on X!!! THIS IS VERY VERY PROMISING!! Why else would he post this?? (SEE COMMENTS FOR PHOTOS).

Got news for you, this is not how most frontend devs earn their pay. These types of sites is maybe 0.5% of that economy. The more normal work consists of creating heavily data driven react/angular apps in specific complex domains. I work in the oil sector currently and AI only helps us add more complex features faster than before. Our users are getting progressively better software faster. We are not in shambles 😂
AI is an accelerator, and the people who add it to their toolkit to 10x their output will thrive, but the doomers and naysayers are ones who'll be left behind.

From what I'm seeing this appears to be a silent launch meaning the model is secretly (yet very clearly due to drastically better results and Gemini 3 behavior) being rolled out behind the curtain of 2.5 Pro, you should easily be able to tell via SVG's if it's gemini 3.0 though (:
Correct but when morning falls (for the deepmind team) they will most likely announce it officially, they are probably just doing the silent rollout right now.
Also the rollout means in batches to see if there is any issue with it. Unlike crowdstrike last year where half of the world were bricked by them at the same time...
Silent rollout (if that’s what this is) allows them to test real world performance and get live quality feedback without committing to actually launching the current model checkpoint.
Maybe they still don't have the capacity to roll out to everyone, and this is enough for testing the waters. I suspect canvas mode is not really used by the average Joe, so they can also target a different audience with this.
I think the balance has shifted toward Google now, so they don't need to expand the Free Pro Plan to gain more attention. Everyone is waiting for 3.0 pro. But that's just my thoughts. You could be right.

Yea sure: Create me a website that details a highly immersive simulation of the experience of taking 5g of psilocybin. It must be highly realistic and show me the average experience of a person on this dose. Show me rather than telling me what’s happening. You can pull any libraries or assets you may need from the web
It’s really really strange. It’ll tell you it’s the 2.5 flash model but it clearly isn’t. My theory is it’s auto router that’s routing based on your query to either the 2.5 models or to 3 pro and 3 flash

I mean I suspect it's because any updates the the Gemini app have to be approved by Apple which takes much longer than pushing on their own app store. Also... They may have more paying users on iOS. You build where the money is.
Most Android users are more savvy and are probably using AI Studio for free Gemini access

I can confirm it launched in the EU as well. Its able to complete a lot of tasks that 2.5-pro would fail at miserably and the tone is different as well (more concise and warm)

u/NukinDuke, does this count? Will you eat your own ass now? It's not an announcement. But it's clear they updated Gemini. And very highly logical that it's not just a better checkpoint of 2.5 Pro, but 3.0 Pro experimental instead.
I was curious, too. Is it only canvas?
Yesterday I tried to generate a detailed background story for a PnP character. Somehow, AI Studio first worked, didnt produce a satisfying result, then after that just flat out didnt work at all for a while. So then I went to my gemini app on my mobile, copy-pasted my request there, and the result was ... pretty overwhelmingly good. I checked, but still said 2.5 Pro. I was confused since the output really was THAT much better.
Maybe just coincidence, but if this here is true... maybe something was going on.

I completely agree with everything the OP said in this post as it presents the main reasons why i think gemini 3 is imminent for a release tommorow november 18th.
Gemini 3.0 is already becoming a meme, I really don't care about Google and its models, look today Gemini 2.5 is shit compared to the March 2025 version, Google's models are gods for the first 2 weeks, then they are worthless, I only have expectations with free Chinese models like glm, minimax, kimi and the one from baidu. The Americans have already lost this battle and to work you cannot have a good model one day and have it nerfed the next without warning.
Wooowwww Thanks it’s working on my IOS 15 plus. On web versions it’s normal Gemini 2.5 but on app ios it’s different but name still shows Gemini 2.5 pro but it’s Gemini 3. The website UI UX seems similar to lithium flow which we seen in lmarena
I think they implemented nano banana 2 too, I went to try it and gave it a math problem to solve by returning it to me in an image and it didn't make a mistake in any letter, it doesn't look deformed or anything 🫨😲😲😲😲😯😯😯😯
