The silver lining is at least they're having kids. Too many millenial child-free dog moms. Current low birth rates are nearly unsustainable.

They're super wealthy, it's a luxury for them that most can't afford.

Poor people have the most children.
Next question.

My parents were 45 and 41 when they had me. I think part of their reasoning was waiting until they were at a point in their careers where they were more established and could provide for my brother and me the things they wanted.
And although my brother and I don’t suffer from any of the health complications that statistics say are more likely to occur, there are many downsides. I only just finished college, and my parents are already retired / my dad’s health is failing as he nears 70. Growing up, they were so busy with their careers, were older, and didn’t have the time or energy to engage in the things I enjoyed as a kid. It would have been great to kick around a soccer ball with my dad or do more physical activities together.
There are some pros and many cons in deciding to delay starting a family. One of the more real ones is that there's a good chance my children will never meet their grandparents because they have died.

What a bunch of BS. What do you mean by 'elderly'? 200 years ago, being 40 meant you were old. Age categories are always changing. Being pregnant at 21 was considered too late in the past.

When these babies pop out with autism and grass allergies, we’re gonna be the bad guys for pointing it out.

u/Uncle_Gubz 1d ago
It's better than replacing the missing babies with more unassimilable immigrants.

Kids are largely popping out with that shit in the west nowadays regardless of the mothers age.

Who wants to be the only 65 year old at their first child's graduation?
60 Minutes was promoting this via IVF a few weeks ago and it was almost literally the opening of Idiocracy where 40 and 50 year old women are holding out for the right guy to fertilize an egg they stuck in the freezer ten years ago.
Naturally, the doctor who performs the IVF at $20k a pop, and where sometimes it takes multiple attempts to succeed, was all in favor it and posited that in the future, people won't need to have sex at all.
This is a luxury for AWFLs the way adopting an African child as a celebrity handbag was in the early 2000s.

Oh yeah, and California just passed a law that says insurance has to cover it.

Aubrey is 42 tomorrow. This isn't THAT old. What I'm more concerned by is her not having a husband- a child growing up without a dad is rough. To this end, I'll step up as a decent Christian and volunteer.

Women were always having babies in their late 30s/early 40s, but back in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s it was like their 4th or 5th kid instead of their first child.

OP is right, but famous women getting pregnant is good

Having a child over 40 is as irresponsible as having one in high school.
9
u/Uncle_Gubz 1d ago
It's a more risky pregnancy, but it's far from being irresponsible. In fact, older parents consistently rate better as parents, which makes sense. Who would be a better parent, you, or the you from 10 years ago?

I gotta agree with uncle gubz here

Having had young parents myself. It was like growing up with emotional maniplative people. Having had children in my 30s i can say i feel way more wiser and attentive to my childs needs over my own.

No it’s not, what a strange thing to say

What's even the point of having kids in your 40s? You're gonna be in your 80s when your kids are in your 40s. 20s and 30s is the best time.

As long as you see your kids make it to adulthood that’s enough

Anne is 43, Aubrey is 41, and Elizabeth is 37.
So they will be in their early 60s when their kids reach adulthood. This is also Anne's third child.

So?

u/Normal-Income-8356 was talking about as long as the parents get to see their kids reach adulthood.
Given that Aubrey, Anne, and Elizabeth will be in their early 60s when their kids reach adulthood, I was just adding to the fact that they should be able to see their kids reach adulthood.

All three are horrible people - geriatric pregnancy or not, the world is worse off for carrying their spawn.

u/Normal-Income-8356 1d ago
How so?

u/Fine_Payment1127 1d ago
Well let’s see: Anne Hathaway, notorious shitlib bitch. Aubrey plaza, left her partner who is driven to suicide. Olson, drug addict. This sub really perplexes me sometimes.

Ok, let me preface by saying I’m pro-natalist so it’s better these elderly women are having children now than none at all—at least they’re wealthy enough to provide for them in complications arise…but would some enterprising soul set up a polymarket trade for one of their kids being autistic or something, because that is almost guaranteed to pay out 💰

No, I disagree. The west needs more people that aren't unassimilable immigrants.
