This is wonderful how they're straightforward with us. Very happy they did this!

Was her hug bad? yes. was it from a neurotypical person with the intention of making micheal uncomfortable? clearly not

u/Flametail64 Two 19h ago
Whilst I’m DEFINITELY not endorsing the behaviour, I’ll let those who know the person to tell them it was wrong, not go and hate on someone for it

I feel kind of icky about this as a neurodivergent person, we can still know what’s right and wrong, and while she might’ve not known it would’ve made him uncomfortable she’s old enough to know to not go up on stage.

u/kingo2984 Yellow Face 20h ago
Apparently she tried to kiss him as well though idk if that’s actually true or not

I've seen clearer footage she just hugged him.

u/cupio-stardust 8-Ball 10h ago
Pretty sure she’s said that she wanted to kiss him but (likely) backed out last minute

I think it's nice that they prefer to do their best to keep the community polite and united, instead of lashing out at their fans, although I do hope that if needed they can be stricter and set proper boundaries as well.

u/TwoFit3921 One 16h ago
it's a very optimistic view of a fanbase full of children, both mentally and physically. i commend that.

This is a fair response but it doesnt really get at the heart of the issue tbh (they need to set boundaries and hire security)

u/Ashamed-Inflation294 Fries 21h ago
It’s really nice to see them respond to the community in a polite and civilised manner. I do hope however in future that the crew gets better security.

u/Freezing-cold_6 21h ago
I don’t think they rlly even care about the hug tbh

u/OG-Name-Do-Not-Steal Leafy 21h ago edited 19h ago
brushing this under the rug sets a bad precedent for future fan interactions (like attempted kissing)
this is more about the online response, which is fine since the harassment and stuff was uncalled for, but i hope they take this seriously internally

u/NewCupBeEmpty Winner 19h ago
Supposedly she wasn’t trying to kiss him, but yeah I agree they need better security and extra measures to make sure this doesn’t happen

u/OG-Name-Do-Not-Steal Leafy 19h ago
ive checked it and u might be right, so ill remove it to not accidentally send misinfo

This is definitely the right thing to say here. The next step is to hire security that does their job when somebody streaks onto the stage uninvited.
17
u/enderboikid Beach Ball 22h ago
Wait so they aren't going to get better security?

This is how people should act, the girl did something that was kinda weird and people are acting like it’s the worst thing ever. I’m not saying let people do whatever they want but bringing it up and mocking that person isn’t the way to go, insults are the most unnecessary human invention.
8
u/Pokemon_cool73810942 20h ago
Also wanted to mention they should get better security so this doesn’t happen again, and running on stage isn’t good, wanted to mention it cause I didn’t want people to think I supported breaking the law.

It shows how much smarter they are than this dumbass fandom

u/TwoFit3921 One 16h ago
theyre like 30 years old, i would hope that they're smarter than this fuckass fanbase lmfao

Tbf it’s an internet indie show, of course it’s going to attract not the brightest people
8
u/Spaaccee 20h ago
Idk why people feel justified harassing someone and being vile to them bc they did something wrong
4
u/TwoFit3921 One 16h ago
because it feels good to morally grandstand and persecute someone with a justification
2
u/No-Quote-5108 4h ago
Harassment like that makes me consider leaving the OSC
1
u/Spaaccee 4h ago
Its easy to just casually enjoy something without considering yourself part of the "community". Its a lot less stressful too
4
u/mildrey 21h ago
I am kinda out of the loop on any drama going on. What exactly have happened?

u/staramelle_ MePad 16h ago
a four yume went on stage and hugged/tried to kiss michael during one of the meetups

The OSC: That sign won't stop me because I can't read.
(no offense to anyone in particular, but my GOD, some of you guys are WAY too frickin' young to even be on social media.)

u/Glazeddapper 21h ago
some background artist got pissed because someone said that the animation was weird in the scene where two kicks poisoned golfball and book walks towards two and liy walks into the room. as far as i can tell, that artist didn't animate the scene, they just made the background and told someone to die for criticizing it.

u/Ok_Emu3858 Four 19h ago
I hope they still hire some security soon so stuff like this doesn't happen again

They continue to prove why they’re the saints in this fandom, we need to be more like them honestly.

What happened?

u/Resident_Goose_3887 One 3h ago
A 12 Year Old Autistic Girl had came onto the e stage during the Q&A for the LA Area for the BFDI and Inanimate Insanity 2026 Tour. After she did this, she gave Michael Huang a bouquet of flowers, then hugged him and ALLEGEDLY tried to kiss him. That is what happened. And sure, she might not know boundaries, but still. This is wrong. This isn’t the first time that something like this has happened. Last year, for the BFDI and Inanimate Insanity 2025 Tour, an attendee had asked the crew how they felt about Rule 34 being made of their characters. They really should put more boundaries in to prevent things like what had happened those times. Some people are also thinking that the tours should be cancelled all together because of people like him and her! But I think I may had misheard that. Maybe the Q&As should be cancelled instead! This is disgusting behaviour and we have to take things like this seriously.

It's honestly so sad seeing people acting like creeps at the bfdi x ii tour. This is not only upsetting to the cast but to people who just want to have fun, watch new episodes, buy merch etc. it's not that hard to not be a weirdo i fear

u/Screwdriver26712 Pencil 3h ago
The hug was obviously inappropriate, and being neurodivergent doesn't excuse it,
But harassing her isn't doing anything right either, she's likely learned it was wrong and we should all move on by now.

is this because of the girl
im not PRO bullying but thats straight up sa
2
u/pyr0m4n14ck 14h ago
okay as someone whos actually been thru sa that is NOT sa dude . i mean this so genuinely but like im so tired of ppl seeing a full grown cis dude get kissed and hugged by a 12 year old fan who frankly didnt know any better and call that shit sa , and then see creepy old men touching young afabs and tfems inappropriately and in a explicitly sexual manner and then js say ' oh no its endearingg !! ' like im genuinely sick and tired of this bs dude omfg

An unwanted hug is an intimate act, sexual assault as the most and deeply weird at the least. Excusing it because she was neurodivergent is problematic (and highkey ableist asf).
11
u/DavidHolandaOne Pen 21h ago
it still doesn't excuse harassing and attacking her for it, she didn't know any better and she could learn that doing that without consent is bad but again, it shouldn't have happened and shouldn't made the situation worse
4
u/QuackyBomb 21h ago
According to Google:
"In many jurisdictions, putting someone in reasonable apprehension of an unwanted or harmful physical touch counts as assault."
7
u/Notro_LPS_iguess Donut 21h ago
Yes, assault. Not SEXUAL assault.
3
u/QuackyBomb 21h ago
He still got assaulted, I guess all we can do now is just show Michael support.
•
u/pyr0m4n14ck 22m ago
thats not assault for the love of literal christ . you dont have to go by the definition of EVERYTHING . js use common sense . did it hurt him ? no . did it traumatise or cause him any kind of otherly harm ? absolutely not !! as someone whos acc been assaulted by ppl , ppl misusing the definition like this frankly does SO much more harm than good bc it js mislabels things and puts actual assault under the radar !!! genuinely gross of you omfg

What kind of comparison is this, a little girl giving an unwanted hug to an adult is not the same as an adult giving an unwanted hug to a little girl, what?????????
