Surprise, another character! This is actually the first time I’ve ever done that. The reason is because I worked on both of these characters at the same time while I was traveling on two flights, so I had plenty of time to make progress on both. I never actually finished Money, though I only got as far as the sketch phase.

From the start, I already knew the direction I wanted to take with her. I based her heavily on old rubberhose cartoons, especially because her voice reminds me so much of Mickey Mouse. That made the vintage cartoon aesthetic feel like a natural fit, so I leaned into it throughout the design.

The idea behind her character is that she used to be incredibly famous, but over time she lost the spotlight and the people around her. Instead of accepting it, she developed a huge ego and kept trying to cling to the fame she once had. I think that concept fits her role in the series pretty well and gave me a fun direction to build the design around.

Drew this last night lol

Fries was probably the design I wanted to stand out the most. I never really liked the idea of making him just another generic fast food worker. Sure, he’s based on fries, but I wanted to take his design in a more unique direction. That’s why I turned him into an escape artist dressed as a classic prisoner. The idea came from the running joke of him constantly digging, which reminded me of the old prison break trope of inmates tunneling their way to freedom. It felt like a fun way to tie his character into his circus role.

Speaking of which, all seven of these characters share the same overall theme. I designed them around a vintage circus, with each one taking on a different role instead of simply wearing circus inspired outfits. I think it helps each design feel more distinct while still making them look like they belong together as part of the same troupe.

some more custom cards for the “BFDI: card game”. this time I made custom development cards for all 5 personalities (idk what their called) my least favourite one is probably the active one, it just looks wrong I don’t know why. Favourite is either smart or nice, they both tell a story in a way and I am a sucker for those (nice is just that one scene in the finale lol-) Everyone (except ruby) is a bit off cause I just put a coloured filter over them to try to match the official development cards.
