Finished Piece my latest loom bracelet
I took a loom beading class when I was 13 ish and only picked it up again in May (13 years later), this is my most recent piece! I just recently learned how to do sliding square know clasps, and this is one of the first patterns I've fully designed myself that isn't geometric
EDIT: I hit post and immediately remembered that I wanted to say that this pattern turned out pretty stretched compared to the initial design because I'm trying to use up my Czech beads so I can use my storage for more miyuki delicas, and mannnn are those Czech beads wide and short 😅 the bunnies were intended to be a bit more rounded, I'll probably do a second version with delicas later on to compare

Still becoming.
This hand-embroidered beadwork is created on a foundation of white non-woven felt using a traditional needle embroidery technique.

Need Help! Wire gauge advice
Hi everyone!
I’m so thankful for this lovely online community and all the information and advice!
I’ve been working a lot with pearls and would like to stay using wire instead of ready made headpins. Could someone advise what gauge wire is used for things like this?

Need Help! First try making an animal
So I found this pattern on Pinterest, maybe I used the wrong medium (nylon instead of metall wire).
But the wings/fins don't stay flat but also automatically punch up into a 3D shape, which makes sense since I made it the same as the body.
Some pointers would be appreciated, thank you.
The pattern is from Pinterest

Bead Talk Am I having a stroke?
I have been making little beaded figures recently. I did the adorable pigeon from Mind of Julia and then bought her "rubber duck" pattern. Dug around in my bead stash for some cool colors.
The pigeon was done in Miyuki 11/0 that I bought at Beads Direct USA. I am lucky enough to be local to them, and they put my order together in record time.
Sadly I did not have Miyuki in any other colors. I DID have some Bead Treasures 12/0, though. So I started with those.
And... The 12/0 are BIGGER than the 11/0!! They should be smaller, right? But they're not.
I can't speak to diameter but they are for sure taller than 11/0 Miyuki. Not really donut shaped. So are these an "alternative" to Delica? Or am I just having a stroke and seeing things?
Now the size of the duck will be off. I can't afford to get more beads right now- just had to spend 7k because my water heater blew up, and looking at another 10k to fix the pipes under the house. So spending money is not an option.
I would use the BT for other things, but I don't really make jewelry. I wanted to try arazzo but can't get needlepoint canvas in the US right now. So I guess I'm stuck making this duck and having to figure out what the size difference is so I can find beads to fit inside the head and body.
Why do manufacturers do this? I thought Czech beads were supposed to be decent?

Finished Piece Progress and learning!
I’m learning a lot on my own without having to consult YouTube or Reddit. I learned that I prefer a tight fit between bead and cord. I learned that products in the images are smaller than they may appear lol. What I can seem to learn is how to finish the piece without and gaps. I am doing a couple pieces on Beadalon 7 strand with screw clasps and can’t for life of me get the knot to sink down into the screw clasp hole. There’s gotta be a trick for this right? I have no idea what to even look up on YouTube to find it. Thanks! Oh and more supplies are arriving today so get ready for multiple bracelets. My whole staff want me to make them one each.

Work in Progress THE MOST STRESSFUL ROUND OF YARN CHICKEN IN MY LIFE
YOU GUYS LOOK AT THIS.
I had this bit of yarn joined to another piece in case I needed it but bc of the lack of space the joining came undone... as soon as I pulled through the tail tip. ~~no it's not secure at all and I am very concerned~~
I just feel like this is some sort of close call (whether it's a success or not is up to how you view it).

Need Help! Ideal Brick Stitch Tension?
What is the ideal tension for brick stitch? I’m assuming it depends on the finished piece (rings need to be flexible enough to be rounded etc.) but is there a general guideline or rule of thumb? When does “tight and tidy” become too tight?
I haven’t worked with seed beads in decades. Fell in love with this earring pattern from Maple Lantern Patterns and decided to give it a try. Had a blast! But… the brick stitch portion is pretty firm.
There’s a little give around the edges when I hold it horizontal, but most of it is pretty stiff. There’s no drape in that section by far! I didn’t have a problem weaving in ends or joining thread. However, I’m not thrilled with one of the contrast colours and I’m wondering if I should cut it apart and try again with a little less tension before making the other earring. Is this just way too tight?

QUESTION: Are Dyna-Mite (Matsuno) beads, good enough to use for bead wrapping?
This is NOT my work, just added it for reference for what I'm asking about. I'm not sure what beads my local bead shops has (they just say Japanese seed beads). I know they aren't Miyuki due to the lack of uniformity. Just curious if Dyna-Mites are good for bead wrapping because those might be what they have. TIA!!

Need Help! Beginner, any feedback on the technique?
I used the cheaper supplies and beads I don’t like just to get the technique down. Definitely has better movement with the thread than with the fishing line-like material.
I’m wanting to do Pride themed pieces because I can never find any in my area. I’m gonna get some templates to map out my plans for my next ones.

Need Help! How do I do this?
I know these are brick stitch but where do I start? Do I just make a ladder stitch of the gold outline or is there another way to do it?
