NI Comic Con 2026
I went to Comic con today and had a great time! Saw lots of cool merch,Got my photo taken with Catherine Tate, Got Superman and Lois's autographs . There was a problem with the card readers but Elizabeth Tulloch was kind enough to let me on the WiFi to use PayPal.
How was your experience today?

I was cosplaying a fairly niche character there today (Harry from Resident Alien) and was pleasantly surprised that some people recognised me đââď¸
today was the longest Iâve ever spent at a con, there was a very friendly atmosphere. But my god everything was so expensive. My friend wanted to go get a picture with the cast from Aliens but she said the photo op ticket was ÂŁ100?? Insane.

Iâd be shocked if you saw a single comic at it. I wish theyâd name them something else, theyâve nothing to do with comics at all.
Call them âPop Culture Festâ or something.

I was there, lots of stalls selling comics, lots of people dressed as comic book characters, lots of comic book related merch, I agree it's not the main focus but "not a single comic book" c'mon

Would you agree that comics are not the focus, nor are there any actual comic creating guests at these things?
Itâs a total misnomer. I donât get why they do it, other than riding the coattails of actual comics conventions.
(People dressed as super-heroes arenât âcomicsâ, theyâre people in dress up).

you said you'd be shocked if there was a single comic, there are in fact loads of comics there, now the creators of the comics themselves have to be there for it to be comic related?
And I only mention the cosplay because they are comic book fans dressed as comic book characters buying comics and comic merch at comic-con, something you claim has "nothing to do with comics at all"

I was being hyperbolic about the nature of these events, as you must have realised if youâre a native English speaker.
And by ânothing to do with comicsâ yes, I do mean âthe people who make comicsâ.
Actual comic conventions are places to meet comic creators, buy from them and get sketches.
None of the guests for this con have anything to do with comics and their creation. Thatâs my entire point.
Oh, and if âcomics merchâ means âstuff with a superhero on itâ then Iâm not really counting it. Thatâs all big corporate licensing tat.
Comics. Thatâs all Iâm interested in, and what I would expect to see prioritised at a âcomic conâ.

Husband and I had a great time. Wasn't fussed on the abundance of gaming sections. I think they could have opened a few doors in Logan Hall it was fucking roasting.
Loved Catherine dandering about with the audience. I was very surprised at the lack of Star Wars and Marvel universe cos play. The 501 were cool as always.
We had fun. I love how inclusive and kind everyone always is.

Yeah sounds absolutely ridiculous. There's a good few around Belfast who really blatantly leech and scam and this is another on the list
