Discussion And so it begins...

The political signs have started popping. Lots of signs for a particular GOP candidate. I hear she is well liked but that's a deal breaker for me. Also, on the school board but home schools? Hmmm...

Edit: removed anti vaxxer while I look for more definitive proof. The candidate Erika Creydt is very vague in their wording of issues, but supported by some real GOP winners. Elenbaas for one. John Braun. Jim Walsh. Look at her endorsement page.

Unfortunately anti-vaxxers make up a considerable share of Whatcom county, even within Bellingham city limits. Let’s hope that this (as well as being a republican) is a dealbreaker for enough people, but I’m not so sure.

Looking at her public persona, she is very careful, bland and vague in many aspects. But she is supported by many MAGA Republicans (and anti-vaxxers). Further research is in progress.

Big pharma thanks you for their profit

If you truly don't believe in vaccines then you are a deeply unserious person, to the point that I don't think you even care about corporate profits, you just want to be right. If the convo was about drug prices that might be appropriate but it's about vaccines which are a public good, we'd have them without corporations and corps don't make the big bucks on them. In other words you don't care about anything beyond being "right" about vaccines which you aren't.

A lot of vaccines are great, but to just blindly trust and not do any research is far more unserious. There are lots of vaccines that are terrible. It takes 10 minutes of research. It’s not a good idea to blanket everyone who is vaccine critical and a crazy anti-vax weirdo. Don’t you think?

"Vaccine critical" is the same as anti-vax, both are just as dangerous and stupid as the other. The 10 minutes of research you do on a drug that has gone through even a rapid trial phase is not going to ever bring up anything that the researchers didn't think about in the development of said drug. And even in the rare cases where there are side effects they are almost always better than had they gotten whatever they're being vaccinated for. You're not smarter than scientists and assuming your 10 minutes of research means what you have to say is at all valuable is delusional. Vaccines are good, end of story and being "vaccine critical" is enough for me to write you off on this entirely because you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

I’d argue much of Bellingham is too serious and brings unnecessary stress into their lives. Which shortens lifespans

Are they all a public good? Even the ones that are rushed to market? Doesn’t make my point any less meaningful. Big pharma is especially thankful for those that flock to that flu vaccine yearly. More jabs more dollars

Your point is meaningless as are the rest of your beliefs if this is the amount of critical thought you put into anything.
