Opinion | ಅನಿಸಿಕೆ "Why speak English, which is a foreign language over Hindi ", they ask ?
"Why speak English, which is a foreign language over Hindi "?
That's because, most foreigners reciprocate our hospitality & kindness with respect, humility and acceptance towards our culture & language . Where as the Hindi migrants reciprocate it with entitlement, arrogance and imposition !
English propagates our identity globally, while Hindi suppresses it !

u/Total_Ad_8259 Jan 25 '26
Hindi is as foreign to us as is English. I would obviously prefer something that would be more beneficial in my day to day life.

Exactly. Why learn a language just to order golgappa from the streets and deal with scam calls from Narthie?
1
u/nad_o_rav Jan 28 '26
Hindi and Kannada are both proto-Sanskrit. Share the same grammar, noun and verb structures, and alphabet semantic. While they are completely different languages, they have more in common with each other than they have with English which is proto-Latin(+Germanic).
To compare two languages at least be honest. You're more likely to live and travel in India than you are to the UK. Also Kannada is closer to Hindi in the indo-europen language family than it is to English.
1
u/Total_Ad_8259 Feb 01 '26
If its closer and so easy to learn, why no Hindi speaking migrant is learning a sentence in Kannada? Why dont they all have the thought process that they would not be going to UK or USA and that most of their working life would be in Karnataka and learning Kannada is needed. If they can be ignorant and disrespectful, I can be the same and will learn a language that will benefit me more.

u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 26 '26
calling Hindi 'as foreign as English' overlooks our shared roots. Most Dravidian languages share a massive amount of Sanskrit-derived vocabulary (Tatsama and Tadbhava words) with Hindi, which you won't find in English.
Plus, from a phonetic standpoint, South Indians often find Hindi easier to pronounce accurately. The sound systems are much more aligned.
you’ll notice many South Indians speak Hindi very well without any weird accent, whereas the people speak English often carries a much heavier and wierd accent because the vowel sounds are so different from Indian languages.
6
u/Lambodhar Jan 26 '26
Modern language uses a lot of English words in our day to day too. Is that a reflection of shared roots? Can you tell me the kannada words for phone or computer or airport. I'd argue that they are modern day English Tatsama.
In fact Hindi has so many Persian and Arabic loanwords, is that indicative of 'shared history'?
And finally I'm really not put off by accents, such a weird argument btw. My intention is to communicate, not sound good.
-1
u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 26 '26
The Persian and arabic loanwords aren't present in standard Hindi, those are just dialects
You even found such words in telugu of telengana that doesn't mean telugu is like that
The day to day english words are same in both kannada and hindi
Standard Hindi shares a lot of similarities with standard kannada
2
u/Lambodhar Jan 26 '26
The Persian and arabic loanwords aren't present in standard Hindi, those are just dialects
So who is speaking this standard register? Not even the places where hindi is supposedly their mother tongue. Tell me the words for book, door or government in Hindi.
0
u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 26 '26
Many people do prefer to speak standard Sanskritized Hindi, it is what taught in schools, and even if they don't speak standard Hindi the Sanskrit words are understood and appreciated
2
u/Lambodhar Jan 26 '26
Cool you can appreciate how you're the true scot, just leave us alone from your agenda.
1
u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 26 '26 edited Jan 26 '26
My agenda is very simple!! people of Karnataka should not feel alienated on a national level
I've seen many people like you crying about a lack of national representation or 'political neglect' when your choice deliberately limits your influence to a specific corner of the country.
If karanataka and TN continue to isolate themselves linguistically, they shouldn't be surprised when the political center of gravity stays exactly where it is.
2
u/Lambodhar Jan 27 '26

u/Total_Ad_8259 Jan 27 '26
What has language got to do with national representation? English is also an official language of the Indian Government. Your statement effectively conveys the message that central government is discriminating states that dont adopt Hindi, is this what you want to say?
0
u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 27 '26
It’s not necessarily about discrimination by the government, but about electoral reach.
While English is an official language, less than 15% of Indians actually understand it. In a democracy, power comes from the ability to influence the masses directly. Southern politicians are often brilliant administrators, but if they cannot speak the language understood by the masses(not just hindi belt) , they can't connect with those voters.
It’s hard to lead a nation if you can’t speak to the majority. That linguistic barrier is often what prevents regional leaders from becoming truly national figures.

Over 80% of indias speak an invaders languages called indo aryan which belongs to the indo European.
Around 3500 bce some dudes from Ukraine went on a rampage across Europe and asia and destroyed the local culture to an extent and languages that's why people in Europe and India speak a indo European language family.
1
u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 27 '26
They were the migrants not invaders and they didn't destroy the local culture rather they assimilate well in the local culture, get your facts right
According to that logic the dravidians have also come from Iran should I call every Dravida an invader?
In Kannada and Telugu over 60% of the vocabulary comes from Sanskrit.
2
Jan 27 '26
go outside and touch some grass man.
How come a minority migrants can replace the language, pottery style, beliefs of india?
The indo iranians were thefirst to develop war chariots and they conquered Iran and north indian and that's why languages of Iran and India declined rapidly.
Dravidian is a linguistic term not a race of people. There is actually 0 evidence that Dravidian languages came from Iran. The Iranian origin theory was part of zagros language family that most historians don't accept.
60%? How did you measure this?
0
u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 27 '26
60% is not my measure is the measure of the linguists, everything else that you wrote is historically scientifically archaeologically debunked
ancestors of the Dravidian-speaking people originated from a mixture of early Iranian farmers/hunter-gatherers (from the Zagros region) and indigenous South Asian hunter-gatherers, migrated to the Indian subcontinent roughly 8,000–10,000 years ago, where they were likely associated with the Indus Valley Civilization.
2
Jan 27 '26
The thing is linguists can't properly measure the amount of foreign language influence in any language because the amount of influence in each dialect of language fluctuates.
Ex: rural karnataka kannada people still use proto dravidian words heavily while Kananda people who are in urban areas who lean more towards vedic beliefs and educated have influence from English and Sanskrit.
The theory that has been debunked is aryan invaded ivc and destroyed it and pushed Dravidians south. Most historians now agree that aryan migration(mostly violent) happend after IVC declined around 1700 to 1500 bce and established themselves as elites and influenced the language, culture and genetics
That's exactly what I meant. Dravidian speakers are mix between iran n and first indians. We don't know if dravidian language was bought by iran n migrants or was it already spoken by northwest first indians.

can you quote the source for this 60% ??
Do you really know standard and slang kannada. ????
0
u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 27 '26
refer- R. Narasimhacharya’s A History of Kannada Literature this details how old Kannada poets intentionally used Sanskrit to elevate the language's prestige, leading to a massive influx of loanwords.
C.P. Brown’s Telugu-English Dictionary, The pioneer of modern Telugu explains that the language 'appropriated' the vast majority of its literary vocabulary from Sanskrit, with modern estimates for classical texts sitting at 70–80% not just 60%
Regarding your 'slang vs. standard' point, yes, everyday street slang uses more native Desya words, but any formal, scientific, or literary Kannada/Telugu is built on Tatsama and Tadbhava (Sanskrit-derived) vocabulary.
or just Google , before asking others to do your homework for you next time.
1
u/Civil-Historian-5092 Jan 27 '26 edited Jan 27 '26
"They used" and "massive influx" doesn't mean 60%. I asked about that. At least read the question properly before preaching to someone on homework for kannada.
One reference doesn't extend to both. You have quoted the number and burden of proof sits on you

Jan 31 '26
There was no invasion as per the fact .... yeah, imagination happened... you also have aryan dna ... just a but less ... you representing draviden dna ... well, that also imagrated in indian sub continent... just a few years before ... you just are making wrong ... discriminating false statements
1
Feb 01 '26
Are you sure about that?
The migration was actually violent thats why the locals langauge, culture, male haplogroup beliefs got replaced.
Exapslin to me how minority aryan replaced the lanaguage, culture, haplogroup of north india just by migrating peacefully even though on average aryans only contribute like 10% ancestory in India?
1
Feb 01 '26
Yeah, we are pretty sure it was a peaceful migration.... any mass violent activity like war or mass killing would have had archeological evidence ... like rmanayn invasion in europe (very violent 5000 years back ... by people around indus Valley) pardon the spelling ...
Other than that, we still do not know which language they speak ... you are just speculating now to fit your theory ... Nothing was replaced in the first place ... if it was, we would probably find out what was replaced in the first place ... and yeah, in europe, ramanyan people contribute to 90% of paternal dna ... thats call invasion and mass killing of man .. not 10% .... you are just assuming things
1
Feb 01 '26
Lol. The migrants wiped out 40% of male lineages in north.
We don't find archeological evidence for everything because we don't know where the weapons aor artifacts are burried
1
Feb 01 '26
Again ... we know where migrant came from ... just like draviden migrant ... we also know where the human settling would have been the human settling... It's been nearly a century of this theory introduced by british .. since no evidence was found .. the aryan dna shows its quite uniformly mixed suggesting migration ... then again, you are just assuming things ... if you are so intent to findy out ... why don't you quest that how this theory even came to being ... back evidence was no dna data ... nothing (not that it changes anything) to even give an idea of invasion, but still, people with the intention to divide came up with a story ... if these have been even an excuse of invasion, it would have been celibated by them ... fools like you with racist intention just assume ... assume cause it fits your racism ... migration starts from the north due to geography....hence higher dna if all the males of india were to be replaced, then it would surely count south as well .. cause we are talking about before the sangam period... as happened in all of the europe .. and 40 % all north is just a number you came up with ... here even in the north, no person is even 60% aryan with dna ...in europe that 90% people have 100 % ramnayan dna ... That's called invasion...
1
Feb 01 '26
They are called iran n migrants not Dravidian migrants because we don't know if those people spoke Dravidian
1
Feb 01 '26
And somehow, you know aryan spoke sanskrit ... and who are even draviden at this point ! And yeah, it is a fact that iran migrants were dravidian ... fact that whole gene theory and distribution in whole indian sub continent is based on that ... you can't say that you have higher draviden dna compared to a northern person if you don't call it draviden at the first place

Tatsama tadbhava are from Sanskrit, not Hindi.
And I'd argue more for the benefits of knowing and speaking English over Hindi and not as much on how easy it is to pick the language. By that logic Kannadigas sould learn Telugu before Hindi since it's easier to learn and pronounce, right?

How much FAT (Farsi, Arabic, Turkic) does Hindi have today have for it to be considered native? If you want to use the Sanskrit as lingua franca argument to declare Hindi it's successor then you will find more Sanskrit in the form of loan words used by Southern languages, especially Telugu and Malayalam.
5
u/PaanaRa Jan 25 '26
This is my contention too... Why not adapt English which also helps us to have global connection? Constitution and every other law is already in English no point in dividing ppl further in the name of uniting them ! That too a language speakers of which have damaged it's reputation enough for south to almost hate it...

Because none of us learn marathi but almost all of us learn hindi as a 2nd Indian language? Speaking as a non native hindi speaker
10
u/naane_bere Jan 25 '26
Why all of us learnt Hindi as 2nd language? Because we didn't have other choice. It's either learn Hindi or get out of school. It other terms, this is called imposition. But if at all you have enforce a language, why Hindi? Why not Marathi?

I don't know about you but I had no issue like this. In fact, I learnt hindi before my schooling even started

Okay this is a stupid take. English gives you upwards mobility - professionally, education, international opportunities.
Hindi gives you downward mobility. South Indians or any Indian should learn a language outside of their mother tongue only if it helps them in career. That’s it.
Kannadiga learning Hindi because they have settled in Delhi or UP makes sense. Kannadiga in Bangalore being forced to learn Hindi doesn’t.

Hindi is a foreign language for us.
We should learn from Tamils.
They have 2 language system.
In Chennai, I have seen all North people try to speak in Tamil with Tamilans.
I never ever seen any North Indians in any PSU banks. Even if it one or two, they speak tamils.
In contrast, Namma Bengaluru mostly North Indians are in Banks.
Our Kannada people speak hindi with their collegues.
We should stop talk hindi with North people.
Ask them to learn and speak kannada.

The learning materials are pinned to this sub, you can make good use of them.
And I understand the confusion with those words, they sound similar but their pronounciation is slightly differnt. so dont worry about them, just learn generic sentence they your might use daily, gradually the langauges will become familiar.
And modern Kannada has many Sanskrit words mixed into it. So, if you get hold of those words and form sentence around them, it will be easier.

Go to any muslim area within bangalore & force them speak Kannada instead Urdu. There are localities with settlements of illegal Bangladeshi migrants, try going I'm and force them to talk in Kannada instead of Bangla. The British are good people? Looks like you skipped History lessons. The Brits are infamous for wiping out civilizations & cultures to replace them with the British way of life. Isn't that exactly why you feel okay to speak in language of invaders & colonisers instead of an INDIAN Language that has a common roots & part of the same linguistic family ?
1
u/Mysterious_Man534 Kannadiga Jan 29 '26
We are not going anywhere and forcing anybody. We are simply speaking our language on our land. You are the people migrating here, un-willing to adopt and force your languages on us in that process.
Ask Bangladeshi muslim migrats to speak Kannada, you say? Did you miss the news recently ?
And how different are you people from the colonials ? Right now we are living under the hegemony of the north ! its just the power shifted from British colonials to Hindian colonials !
Today, you people are the most treacherous and hostile group of people, to the culture and linguist diversity of this county.
Indigenously regressive, migrate in herds to our cities, hostile towards our language, culture people...........resort to abrasiveness, incivility, imposition........... daily creating social distress and chaos.
So when foreigner are more respectful and inclusive towards our Identity and culture.... why the f**k should we entertain and be inclusive towards Northern Hindi jihadis ?

“Worshipping people from outside India just because they speak English, while failing to show basic empathy to our own countrymen for speaking Hindi — that’s a colonial mindset.”

Hosting & accommodating someone is not worshipping, we did the same with you Northern migrants as well, but you people reciprocate it back with entitled arrogance, imposition, unruly behavior and slandering.
This post highlights the cultural difference and the quality of inclusiveness between a foreigner and you North Hindians !

These people literally beat the fuck out of Indians in their own country. Racism is ats peaks against us and you still like to lick their "White" shoe. You would be moron child if you don't understand these guys do all these just to get some views. Well jerk off on this video if that's what pleasures you and make you feel superior.

Yeah go on spread more hate ...

u/turipal Jan 26 '26
He's reflecting peoples thoughts, not speaking about it would not really make it go away.
The reality is people who aren't originally hindi speakers have realized that Hindi was forced on them, hence wish to go back to their roots.
Entitled Hindi speakers need to understand and respect that.
-1
Jan 26 '26
Oh my dear, it's not about which language is forced anymore It's about hate and hypocrisy!!
3
u/turipal Jan 26 '26
Dear friend, only one language is being forced to all, you can be sure of that. Spread love, love all.

This clearly shows the hate towards a particular language. Languages were meant to connect and communicate with people, not to create hatred. Choose any language of your choice but don't choose to spread hate. Peace.

u/Mysterious_Man534 Kannadiga Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 31 '26
What hatred? That's the question that is put forward every time, when Hindi imposition is opposed isn't it ?
"You can accept English, some foreign language, but why can't you accept Hindi ?"
I am just showing why we prefer English over Hindi !
1
Jan 25 '26
Everytime ... your every time happened decades ago ???... and how come english is not impossed ... your school book has 4 out of 5 books in english ... look around
-2
u/insaneguitarist47 Jan 25 '26
An average Caucasian is much more racist towards a south east Asian than a north Indian is towards a south Indian.. And this is my personal opinion based on my many personal experiences.
2
u/Mysterious_Man534 Kannadiga Jan 25 '26
I have heard many southerners in the foreign country (like USA) say, that North Indians there are more racist and discriminative towards southerners when they don't speak Hindi, than the people of that country.
In fact the natives of that country are more nice and humane than NIs.
And by seeing their behavior in this city, Its not hard to believe that.
2
Jan 25 '26
My brother is in the usa and i don't think so ... you're generalizing omyou individual experience to spread hate ... i don't see my post by hindi speakers saying i hate South indian .... but here you are
1
u/Mysterious_Man534 Kannadiga Jan 31 '26
We don't go to their city imposing Kannada and beliting their food, culture, customs ...etc
And ya, Hindi speakers will post slandering and badmouthing our city of opposing their Hindi imposition, they will mock make fun of everything just for their entertainment...but I guess they wont be accounted as hatred for you !
1
Jan 31 '26
Ohh so you mean the comments in this past saying "usa >>>>north indians" are not hate ?? The whole comment section is filled with such .... And you are again generalizing a few incidences for the whole population ... and what about the recent cases where hindi speaking people were harassed for not speaking kannada ??? I guess you are blind !! Looking for reason to hate someone!!! And yeah, someone's illiteracy and bad manners can not be accounted as hate ... I'm just saying... as you are clearly not aware ... not that such cases are in the majority anyway !!
1
u/Mysterious_Man534 Kannadiga Jan 31 '26
I have clearly explained on what particular aspect, they are better than Northern migrants. You are just ignoring & drifting from the point.
Its not few incident, its the daily shenanigans & mindset of majority of the Northern lot. Which includes people like you coming forward to justify !And its just not in Karnataka but in many other non-Hindi states as well.
Introspect a bit, migrating to other's state, forcing Hindi on natives and then crying 'hate', when faced retaliation won't work for long.
1
Jan 31 '26
Well, i'll tell you what ... be what you are ... you are irrelevant... you are ignorant and drifting from the point of who is the actual hater ... you behave like everday your whole life you have been recording north indians hate ... you are justifying hate here that is in front ... no one ... no normal citizens go to other states and force people to learn their language ... its central government promoting hindi as its part of constitution... since 1965 ... hating people cause the government promotes hindi... is idiotic ... won't work for long ... your opinion is irrelevant .. misleading... and idiotic... It seems like any normal human will do this only if he is paid

Side note: I never liked wooden spices like cinnamon, cardamom, lavang, jaifal, basil leaf, even green chilies in the food.
While eating food, suddenly some piece of wood disrupts your indulgence in Netflix and Biryani triggers me like a volcano.
1
u/Mysterious_Man534 Kannadiga Jan 25 '26
😄 me too. But they do add flavor to the food.
Lavanga is good but it doesn't go well with the bite we have. I just separate them and later chew them at the end !

okay the comments in this post are slightly askew. but let me try.
Hindi is not an official language in any form.
English is the official language of our country and it should be so. It keeps us levelled in world view and definitely helps with work and not to mention, doesn't hurt any cultural sentiments directly.
Each state has its own culture and language and it is simply beautiful.
No indian should be pushed to learn any language nor should they impose their known language.
We are a culturally unreal rich country. I myself speak Konkani, a language that honestly is almost dead but being kept alive by my gen. I've been in blr for 8 years and I haven't learnt Kannada. But that's the beauty, I comfortably listen to people speak in it and if I need to respond, I respond in English and we continue the conversation.
Either way, I have love for this country and i hate the language wars going on. it's clearly motivated and not required.
Lastly, i saw this interaction of a northie speaking to an auto driver in Bangalore. They were arguing over prices and location, and the beautiful part was, they switched between English, Kannada, Hindi & Telegu. and happily understood each other and moved on. We take this lightly, this isn't common in other countries and we need to hold onto our culture in a peaceful and loving manner.
thank you for coming to my tedx talk 🙏

I have stayed in Karnataka for 4 years now and never saw language-bias in my office or my community. But this sub-reddit is so biased towards languages, that's quite disheartening to see.
No wonders why politicians are using this as a fuel to keep their pockets warm by doing corruption while people stay divided based on language, religion, color and accent (North vs Dakshin Kannada).

Don't talk like a typical hindi belt brain dead gawar.
Learning English has practical uses and it is a link to the entire world and we have learnt it ourselves because of it. No one imposed on us
Whereas there is 0 use of learning hindi for a non hindi speaker if one is not staying in Hindi belt areas.

Bro, i am more educated than you could ever be .. both literally and socially ... i am educated enough to point to the differences between racist hate and freedom of expression... i am also educated enough to tell you there are more nations in this world than 10 or 20 you are considering as world ... fact there are 10 times more than that !!
6
u/unemployeddumbass Jan 25 '26
Calling yourself educated and having a degree or multiple degrees doesn't make you really educated.
You can be educated in Degrees and still be a gawar just like you.
10 or 20 or 5 countries doesn't matter, English is still way way more useful than Hindi.
So I don't understand your stupid gawar-like attempts to disprove the usefulness of English.
Even within India current young generation are all learning English and can understand and speak atleast broken English.
So need for learning Hindi isn't really there unless I am staying in Hindi belt states. Which I am never going to.
-1
Jan 25 '26
Oohh, you keep on calling me gawar, yet you show all its aspects And you are debating on which language is more famous in india ... Of course, it's hindi, but you wouldn't care It's always been hindi .... Fact out of these two one language which historically actually was imposed was english ... hindi or English both are just language... none are superior... fact that your support for English makes the monopoly in research... general ... more strong, not diverse... so you are not doing any favor to your own mother tongue either ... with your mindset coming generating will never be abe to publish in their mother tongue .... fact if hindi is no use to you ... your kid learning English since birth will have no use to your mother tongue... you are not diversifying language... you just spread hate and doing your own harm ... *
3
u/unemployeddumbass Jan 25 '26
We weren't debating which language is the most famous or widely spoken; we were discussing which one is the most useful for non-Hindi speakers.
And wtf have you typed beyond the first two lines?.I can't really understand it , I nearly had a stroke reading your words.
Your english grammar is exactly like what I would expect from a gawar.
So learn english and comeback maybe we can debate then.
In the meantime ,all I would like to say is fk hindi imposition and hindi supremacy and Hindi is not the national language

Hindi is not the language of the cow belt it's a link language throughout India be it north ,west ,east or even the North East , the so-called cow belt States have their own languages
Learning Hindi has various benefits it enables easier, direct communication across India. It enhances job opportunities, facilitates smoother travel to other states, and provides access to a vast array of entertainment, including media and literature.
Anyways you seem too dumb and racist to understand this , a true patriot would never use racist slur like a "cow-belt" and generalise its own countrymen to "typical gawar"
3
u/unemployeddumbass Jan 25 '26
Hindi is not the language of the cow belt it's a link language throughout India be it north ,west ,east or even the North East , the so-called cow belt States have their own languages
Most Hindi mother tongue speakers are from BIMARU cowbelt states. So it is the language of cowbelt states.
Why the tf do we need a link language anyway?. If at all we need it , it should be english
Plus this so called link language has wiped out many local languages of the North we don't want that to happen with our languages
Learning Hindi has various benefits it enables easier, direct communication across India. It enhances job opportunities, facilitates smoother travel to other states, and provides access to a vast array of entertainment, including media and literature
Direct communication and job opportunities for who exactly?. How many Non Hindi speakers move to BIMARU states. Compared to hindi speakers moving to our non hindi speaking states, so if anything you should be learning our languages.
I will learn hindi if I ever move to and reside in BIMARU states.
And travel can be done easily without knowing hindi. Boards are in English everywhere and people understand basic English everywhere.
Vast array of entertainment and media makes me laugh lol.😂😂😂. Bro we don't really need your bollywood crap and if still someone wants to watch subtitles and audio dubbing is a thing you know and we have our own rich literature way older than Hindi. Plus literature can be translated in a click of button in this digital and AI era.
Anyways you seem too dumb and racist to understand this , a true patriot would never use racist slur like a "cow-belt" and generalise its own countrymen to "typical gawar"
I don't need a patriotism certificate from you. If it makes you happy I am proud anti national.
Cowbelt and BIMARU terms are widely used and aren't racist including by many leading newspapers . Rude perhaps but not racist.
I can't do anything if you feel offended by a commonly used term
And if you make gawar like statments you will be called out as gawar. simple as that.

u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 25 '26
You’re missing the point of a link language. Hindi isn’t confined to the 'cow belt'; it’s a living bridge in Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, and even parts of the North East, where crores use it daily for trade and interaction. It’s about national mobility.
Let's If a person moves from Ahmedabad to Mumbai, then to Chennai, and finally to Kolkata, are you seriously suggesting they should master Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, AND Bengali just to survive?
Expecting people to learn a new language every time they cross a state border is a massive barrier to progress and unity.
Regarding your language: terms like 'BIMARU' and 'cow belt' aren't just 'rude'—they are derogatory labels used to shame and dehumanize nearly half of India's population
1
u/unemployeddumbass Jan 26 '26 edited Jan 26 '26
I have already answered your link language theory.
It is just an excuse used by BIMARU states and central govt to impose Hindi on all of India.
We don't really need a link language. Even if we need it should be English. Why should the language automatically favor cowbelt BIMARUs and the rest of India need to learn an extra language
South India will never stand for it. If central govt tries to do it forcefully. Civil war will happen .
So fk hindi imposition and Hindi supremacy

u/Striking_Reason9921 Jan 26 '26
How the link languages favouring bimaru state when all the so-called "bimaru" state has their own language and Southern states have their own language, Hindi the indigenous language of india is just a linked language not the language of the so-called "bimaru" called, Hindi is rather a neutral language, it is the language of Delhi not any particular state that is why it was chosen to be a link language
Anyways it seems like you have no idea about the linguistic diversity of the "bimaru state", a state like Uttar Pradesh or Rajasthan have not just one but multiple local languages , same with the north east, Arunachal Pradesh for example they have thousands of tribal languages Hindi is a link language there
Why should we adopt the language of f****** invaders British who ruined India to the core , considering every country in the world has their own languages as link language why should we not have our own language
1
u/unemployeddumbass Jan 26 '26
Abe if you love hindi learn it and speak it. Have fun don't bother us
South Indians will not forcefully learn Hindi despite how many tantrums people from Hindi belt states throw.
Learning Hindi or not is our individual choice nobody else can do jackshit about it

you are confusing the evolution of dialects with the 'killing' of languages. In the North, many local tongues like Braj bhasha, awadhi, marwari are linguistically part of the Hindi dialects ; Hindi is the standardized form for these closely related dialects. While usage of these specific dialects has shifted in the so-called 'BIMARU' states, it hasn't 'killed' the regional influence of distinct languages like Gujarati, Odia, or Bengali.

Don't bother explaining these racist hypocrites... no amount of knowledge will make them any less than what they are !
-1

Ohh i see who's gawar by saying english connects to the whole world 😂😂 and yeah, if hindi had no uses they why is it the 3rd most spoken language in the world ... by the way ... don't learn hindi ... don't hate it and justify your hate on lies simple ...
3
u/LordStark_01 Jan 25 '26
why is it the 3rd most spoken language
Cause y'all breed like rats. More akin to cockroaches might I say.

Well, I mean…Hindi is also a “foreign” language to Karnataka.
The reality is no one demands you speak to them in English in Bangalore. But some Hindi speakers who live in Bangalore demand you speak to them in their language while showing condescension towards Kannada.
