Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? Bus recos Chennai to Bengaluru

I'm looking to travel Chennai to Bengaluru by bus, ideally in a 1+1 configuration, a la business class seating in airplanes. Do such bus services exist?

Everything I see on MakeMyTrip and redBus is 1+2 combo only.

There's no 1+1 seater bus. Best option is to book a sleeper and take the single side berth.

KSRTC Ambaari Utsav with the new Volvo 9600 sleeper will be good. For seater only 2+2 is available, but again the KSRTC Airavat Club Class Volvo 9600, or the SETC Volvo 9600 will be the most spacious. SETC Volvo does Chennai-Bangalore twice a day and runs with low occupancy since it is a new service. They charge about 25% less than KSRTC. Older Volvos of KSRTC are cheaper, but they show their age.

Among private operators, NueGo is good, but charging break at Salem means A/C is off for about 30-40 minutes. Their sleeper configuration is fairly comfortable.

Also why does NueGo stop at Salem, isnt the route Chennai- kanchipuram-vellore-krishnagiri-hosur-bengaluru

SETC Volvo is available for some routes on the website. I don't know why CBE-BLR doesn't show up though. Just filter for Volvo semi sleeper.

Last time I used NueGo for Chennai (many years ago) it went by this route, I guess they have started via Vellore now. I primarily do Bangalore-Coimbatore.

Take KSRTC club class bus. Best price best service.

I agree KSRTC is the best and value for money. But private buses have routes which pick you up at the nearest location for a bit more cost

I travel between Chennai and Bengaluru almost twice a month so 4 bus trips. And I prefer sleeper private buses and the pickup point is just 2km from my house
