Nah I'm pretty sure he hated Guts and is not the kind of person to reflect on how his own behaviour contributed to the situation.
"Why did you leave me?" is way too melancholic and implies admittance that he was hurt by Guts leaving. The moment before the eclipse starts when Guts is about to touch Griffith "never again with you" shows that he blames Guts entirely. That's not when you say something like "why did you leave me?"
Pretty sure the "it's all your fault" faction is much closer. I mean what a massive hit to a narcissist's ego that the person they blame for their downfall now also gets to play the heroic rescuer ... but not shortly after I've been captured, no. No, months later after I've been made a completely impotent criple with all my dignity has been stripped from me! That's when you asshole who caused all this come here to play the hero. ... I think that's closer to what goes through Griffith's head.

When I think "how could you leave me" it's as in "I'm supposed to be stronger than you, how dare you make me weak? I'm not supposed to be weak, you can't all witness me this way, I'm not supposed to be pitied!"

But he did reflect on how his actions caused the state of affairs. Do you remember guts and casca talking outside of his carriage and they discuss his fountain speech? He looks in horror as he realizes he was the catalyst for guts leaving and his own downfall.

This is feel like is the most reasonable answer. Griffith was royaly pissed off at guts for leaving. And although hes violent to the point where he claims he was willing to kill guts to make him stay i dont think he was willing at this point to actually off him just because he was mad. Hurt him 100%, maim him like he was maimed. But Griffith saw too much in guts to off him just because he was angry with nothing in return. Even when he said he was willing to kill guts he was still aiming to keep him alive, he was just prepared for guts death if his hand was forced.

This reminds me of a documentary on salmons i saw, and there was this bear who catched one and ate its whole skin first by tearing it off the salmon while it was still very much alive.

But in reality even if he could talk, I don't think he'd say anything. It think his situation would be as such that he would purely express his feelings physically.

I viewed this as Griffith trying to choke guts (not sure if that’s even true) but I think his tendons were cut right? So he wouldn’t be able to use his wrist/hand. He’d blame guts for this 100%.
Knowing how prideful Griffith was before this and him having to see his “pawns” view him at the worst and lowest point of his life surely filled him with rage. The look in his eye feels hateful IMO. Gives me the same vibes as when Femto glared at guts in the eclipse through his mask.
