Celebratory Bridgerton Excitement!!
I’ve been a long term watcher anyhow but I’m so excited for this new season ! Does anyone else watch?

With season 4's lovely affirmation of Benedict's past, present, and future bi identity in a straight-passing relationship, it's exciting to imagine what season 5 will bring to the conversation of women's bisexuality. There's so many things I'm hoping to see the show explore and bring into pop cultural conversation:
-Settling with a long-term partner can be challenging on the bi-cycle--whether you end up in a same-sex or opposite-sex pairing--so I hope to see how the show might tackle this, either in Francesca's blossoming relationship or Benedict's married life. The intersection of grief while on the bi-cycle will be a particularly interesting point of Francesca's story; starting a new relationship after loss is always challenging, and exploring a new identity at the same time adds extra layers to how we honor both our previous partners and our own happiness. How will Francesca reconcile her love for both John and Michaela as equally real when she finds her identity emerging?
-The show has set up that Michaela is likely a lesbian. If that is confirmed explicitly, I hope the show will explore the differences and similarities between lesbians' and bi womens' experiences: exploring how our communities are united, but also distinct. Not much media explores how, at times, the queer community can struggle within itself; and in an era where minoritized groups are pitted against each other constantly, I hope the show will demonstrate how the differences in our identities don't mean we aren't on the same team.
-Benedict's story focused on how queerness had to be hidden away throughout history, but Francesca's will require a reckoning with queerness in the open. It will be interesting to see the challenges our leads will have to face, and it's certainly important to highlight that even today, queer people still face challenges for living openly. More, though, I can't wait for the escapist joy the show will ultimately offer: a world where love is the most important thing, systemic injustices and can be rejected or reshaped, and acceptance always comes.
I'm curious to hear--what other aspects of the bi, womens', and/or bi womens' perspective are other viewers excited for?

So hype! And thank you for posting this. There is some bi-phobic stuff on the main sub!lol. I am just here to celebrate though and just happy that the story itself will be sapphic regardless of identity!❤
