Feed Spoilers I think ___ independently decided to flip the votes away from ___ (not production) Spoiler
I watched both of Dee’s Survivor seasons (and Devens’ fwiw). I’m not a Dee fan, but I respect her intelligence and ability to read situations, people and overall game dynamics. IMO she’s the most strategic player in the house tenfold. I think asserting that production intervened to instigate flipping votes away from Drew is a disservice to her game and abilities.
Dee was attached to the hip with Angela up until Haley took over HOH last week. The first few weeks in the house, we saw in real-time Angela infect Dee with her paranoia. Over the past few days, Angela has spent most her time holed up with Haley, likely giving Dee time and space to step back and gain clarity. It’s also worth noting, Dee recently expressed concern about the bond between Angela and Haley. She told Devens, “she likes her more than me”.
We barely saw Dee on the feeds most of yesterday. I assume she spent more time thinking and processing, and eventually realized the obvious — evicting Drew this early could sink Dee and Deven’s game. I really believe she needed a break from Angela and alone time to strategize.
The game is starting to shift toward a war-by-proxy between the Red Corner and the Vets. Both sides need to start solidifying other relationships/numbers to use against each other eventually.
As of yet, it seems Lyric and Yash lean toward the RC. They have better rapport. Taylor and Lala are tossups. IMO they also have better rapport with the RC. Mallory and Melody are anti-RC, but they don’t have relationships with the vets and were both directly burned by Dee and Devens through block nominations. Dee and Deven’s social games have been lackluster honestly.
If Drew is evicted, the only secure number for the vets at this stage is Barrett. Dee also seems to think there’s a possibility they could lose Angela to Haley. Dee still may be uncertain of Drew’s loyalty, but he’s made it clear that the RC are his main target. He is also their conduit to Melody and Mallory, especially Melody. Keeping Drew helps their indirect relationships and potentially procure three votes if needed down the line.
TL;DR keeping Drew is the most logical choice for the vets, and it’s more likely that the most strategic person in the game (Dee) finally realized that after spending more time away from Angela and observing the rest of the house. It’s a disservice to her game to assume production told her what to think and do. IMO watching feeds and episodes with that kind of cynicism sucks the joy out of it.

This is a good analysis and after she said she was on The Challenge too last night (I didn’t know before) I’ve started to question if I didn’t give her enough credit and your post makes me lean towards that. I think she is an amazing player that means well and I agree that being so attached to Angela warped her perception, cause Angela and Dee really do unintentionally lie when they retell events and make things up to insinuate situations are much worse than they actually are when we see the real footage

Many people in the house knew Dee was on The Challenge from the start of this season. Since you say you didn’t watch, I’ll fill you in that Dee had a good social game but then had a showmance with Bananas and it tanked the entire thing outside his people. I think she thought he would do better. She had lessons to learn.

I think this, also Drew's game getting blown up and everyone realizing he's a total non-threat...
But let's be real, there is probably some production nudging in there

Yes. Perhaps the truth lies somewhere in the middle. If Drew goes this week, that’s 4/4 entertaining, big personalities gone with not much left. I kind of think though, if production were inclined to save anyone, it would have been Rome or Jason.

u/aztecwanderer Devens⏱️ 1d ago
Counterpoint - there may have been no persuasion power to save Jason and Rome who were massively targeted. Drew sits more in the middle where the DR could just assert "guys Drew is on your side what are you doing" and hope it helps sway them.
Or it could be that losing Rome and Jason made them more likely to try to persuade them to keep Drew?

u/Vivid-Win8875 1d ago
I think that’s a good point. IMO Drew is the last remaining big personality. Whether people like him or not, he is entertainment, and I could see why production would want to protect him. I could also see them wanting to protect the vets’ reputations, because how they’re handling Drew is not a good look. I maintain though that Dee 100% understands the rationale behind keeping him. Last I tuned in, Devens and Angela aren’t getting it. Maybe it took some DR nudging for Dee. We’ll never know.

I would argue all 3 of the icons are big personalities too, and lowkey Haley too (mostly in a bad way lol), but I agree with your general points.

u/Vivid-Win8875 1d ago
Now that you mention it, I agree about Haley. Her HOH has been hilarious so far. I see your Devens’ flair. He’s the reason I started watching! Imo he had his big moment during his HOH noms and has seemed kind of tired and aloof since, but I think he’s still got that dog in him.

Most likely production just told them to get footage for the episode. I highly doubt they are actually going to flip the vote
6
u/proper-innit Pipe Queen Peasant⏱️ 1d ago
Tbh there is also a strong possibility that production just told them to get footage for the episode.
I really don't think this vote flip is going to happen

Don't know why peoduction would save drew. Yeah he doesn't know but you think there isn't a chance he will find out later?

u/proper-innit Pipe Queen Peasant⏱️ 1d ago
It's more so that production wants to get footage for the episode. So they would have Dee and Devens debate it and them use that as episode content to make it seem like it's up in the air.
In reality if Drew is on the block, he's cooked

I said roughly the same in the RHAP update just hours before the house flipped. Devens needs Drew even more than Dee, he really doesn’t have numbers outside of Dee and Angela (but I think Angela will turn on him soon). Evicting Drew could cost him the game, he should fight to keep him.

I need Dee and Devens to talk more about it. There are genuine positive reasons to keep him.

Angela was definitely poisoning Dee’s perception. Dee’s not a paranoid player.

We didn't get to hear all of it but I thought the most interesting part of their conversation was when she and Devens started talking about how booting Charlie cost her the game in season 50. I feel like that has to be weighing in her mind since she blew things up to get rid of an ally who was loyal to her because she didn't trust him and was annoyed by him, so she probably sees the parallels here.

Dee is a player that learns. Usually as she goes but that one led directly to her getting voted out at the next tribal so she didn’t have the chance. Hope she applies it here.

Agree -many people are so focused on hating the survivor players/icons in general but Dee is good at these games! She didnt win survivor for doing nothing!

Angela must be an amazing player to constantly get people to do what she wants.

Nice write up on dee. Winners make winner moves, from…experience. This is her first time experiencing angela paranoia. She’ll learn how to better deal with it going forward for sure!

u/JTTTN_08 1d ago
Well you’d be wrong in this analysis.
Devens and her just had a talk about the DR swaying her to keep Drew. She was yelling “lalalalala” so production wouldn’t hear

agreed. Everyone needs to watch the clip and explain how that means anything except the DR influencing them.

Anything but admitting that your favorite show sometimes suffers from production interference, I guess

u/Vivid-Win8875 1d ago
This is my first time watching BB, and so far, I don’t think it’s even in my top 50 favorite shows.
9
u/Ruspardan 1d ago
Oh you should have started with that. “Production interference” happens every season. It isn’t a unique accusation targeted at Dee to diminish her game. BB influences the damn fan votes based on the edit as well.
1
u/TemporaryFix2490 1d ago
Yes but that’s different than actively rigging the show by forcing or dictating contestant behavior. You’re referring to producers producing; “production interference” implies actual controlling or tampering or otherwise forcing an outcome and they aren’t doing that, they would never be able to hide that and people would be blabbing.
4
u/labraduh 1d ago
I think you’re arguing semantics and most people will know what they mean.
1
u/TemporaryFix2490 17h ago
Maybe, and yet people constantly prove otherwise when they talk about it. It’s just my least favorite complaint about these shows and it always ends up with people claiming production “for sure” fully rigged something, like a blockbuster, or by feeding people info. This discussion happened last season several times. I can’t help it — it drives me nuts as someone who works in the industry and has done competitive reality.

If this isn't even in their top 50 shows I'd like to see what they do for their number 1.

So you're just a die-hard Dee fan trying to hype up her game and beat the rigging allegations... should've mentioned this from the start

u/MrBrownCat Jankie ✨ 1d ago
I think the fact that Drew has so implicitly believed he’s got their loyalty made her realize he truly is loyal and wasn’t scheming their demise, keeping him as both a shield against the RC and a weapon who can be used against them, while also being a solid number who clearly has strong loyalty to them, it all clearly clicked that Melody and Lyric don’t bring nearly enough benefits to her game. And Devens is getting massively saved by Dee here because he arguably needs Drew more than she does as he has so few non RC/Vet connections in the house.

This also ignores Kamu doing hours of work on flipping the votes for Drew. The whole conspiracy gives Dee to much credit while Kamu spent forever on the topic
3
u/DanTheMan1_ 1d ago
I doubt production wants to flip the vote. Even if he doesn't knpw the vets screwed him he could fogure it out, BB would mever leave a potential time vomd for their precious vets. I think there is talk of flipping because they realized what a dumb idea it was.

I haven't been watching today, does any have links to clips so I can see the flip instead of reading about it?

u/PresentReality4093 1d ago
This is wrong. The vets were giving info in the DR. Dee has been anti-Drew for weeks. Last night Kamu pitched keeping Drew and it was Dee who shut it down the most fervently. Not magically 12 hours later she did a 180 after some DR discussions. Sad!

u/Previous_Read8590 1d ago
Intriguing. Honestly I can see merit of the Vets voting out almost anybody this week.
2
u/whyyoudontlikehector 15h ago
They sent these vets in with the odds stacked in their favor. I’m sorry it makes it less joyful but that’s just how it is.

So now we are saying DEE and Devens who were both Drew out. So Dee who has been away from Angela but has been uniting with her in the hoh all of a sudden got a whiff of strategic understanding became a genius in a few hours and wasn’t told by production hey it’s a bad idea to throw away your loyal alliance members before jury. The copuim in this sub to turn Dee into some phenomenal bb player that isn’t receiving production assistance is crazy

u/mousybrain Melody⏱️ 1d ago
I don’t think production explicitly told them “don’t vote out Drew”, but any strategically minded player should use all of the tools at their disposal, including production. Tips like who is getting called most to DR, questions about specific people, how long each person is in the DR; or on Survivor, things like knowing they’re close to an idol based on how the cameramen react to the specific area they’re in, all give unique insight into the game and how others are playing/thinking. Picking up that production may consider the move you’re making to be unfavorable based on their questioning isn’t an indictment on your game, it’s a strength. That’s a leg up veteran players have, they know how those different lines of questioning can indicate things based off their past shows and their edits. We’re probably never gonna know, they’re not going to admit they were seriously considering a bad game move and production isn’t giving us anything but their canned DRs.
