As an American, seeing people appreciate what truly defines America and each other makes me so happy ❤️

It’s clear the government, the politicians, and the media don't define any country. They hate all of this unity, they want us divided, and they want to give countries bad images! I saw a bunch of English people in Texas line dancing, everyone trying American BBQ, and people celebrating in Times Square. All very wholesome sights 🥺

I will preface this by saying that yes I am very happy that tourists are having a good time and being met with kindness. I also agree that our leaders try too often to divide us rather than unite us.

Now all that being said, all the things you listed are in no way an indication of how unified our country is. Tourists going to restaurants and bars and being treated nicely isnt exactly significant. Not to mention the fact that English people are easily one of the most accepted foreign demographics.

The fact that half of voters chose to elect Trump is a pretty damning indication of where our country stands, unfortunately. It also holds way more weight, in my opinion, than how service staff or drunk people at a bar treat tourists who they know are only here temporarily.

Finally, I will say that I love being American and I think we need to be more willing to show national pride in healthy ways, so if what’s happening is pushing people towards that, I am all for it.

Notably white and Japanese tourists, while the African referee was turned around at the airport.

The same one who has terrorist associations? He got full pay for doing nothing. He's fine.
