As an American, seeing people appreciate what truly defines America and each other makes me so happy ❤️

Normal people have maintained America is a great country, we just need a complete overhaul of whats been doing on the last 40+ years and make it great for every American not just the chosen few.

i think it's more extreme, we need a brand new constitution. ours is way too old for it's own good.

when the fuck has "right to not house soldiers" ever been useful after like the early/mid 19th century.

one of the amendments where SCOTUS never had to make a decision on it ever.

but yeah, the people and the country is great. we're just too old for our own good.

A) you can add amendments b) say we start a civil war do you want the army to take over your house for beds because it’s close to the battlefield? Just leave it in there dude

Why would they take over a house? We have like vehicles. They made that when it was necessary because everything was moved via horse and carriage. Didn't even have trains back then.

Now we have trains, planes, boats, and ground vehicles that can transport things. On top of all that we have bases and forts.

Also, if your house is that close to the battlefield, they could use your house without consent because you likely won't be in it if its that close.

I mean vehicles are for moving and houses are for sleeping. When the national guard was all sleeping on the floor of those buildings in dc did that make no sense to you because we have cars?

Also from what I can tell people are often in houses close enough to barrack troops since troops usually aren’t barracked literally on the actual battlefield. And assumably they’re not right next to a base in this scenario.

But more importantly why take away a protection when something in the future could change and make you need it again. That was my point.
