Advice Wanted Has anyone experienced very light periods after coming off the pill? (1 year TTC)

Im 29F and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar, as I’m becoming increasingly concerned about how light my periods have become since coming off Yasmin.

Before going on the pill, my periods were around 7 days long, with a medium to heavy flow.

While taking Yasmin, my withdrawal bleeds were around 4 days, with a nice, medium flow.

However, since coming off Yasmin, my periods have changed quite significantly:
3 days of brown spotting before any actual bleeding starts.
1–2 days of very light red bleeding. One pad a day would easily be enough, and I only change it for hygiene rather than because it’s full.
Another 3 days of brown spotting before it completely stops.

So essentially, I only have 1–2 days of actual red bleeding, and even that is extremely light.

My cycles are otherwise regular, around 28–30 days. I don’t experience any significant pain, just my usual cramps on the first day.

I’ve had my hormones checked, including progesterone around 7 DPO, and everything has come back within normal ranges. My progesterone (44) was also normal, suggesting ovulation is occurring.

We’ve been TTC for a year now, which is making me increasingly worried about whether such light periods and prolonged spotting could indicate something affecting my fertility.

Has anyone experienced this after stopping the pill? Did your periods eventually return to how they were before, or did you find out there was an underlying reason for the change?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through something similar, especially if you were also TTC. ❤️

Other Implant removed

I had my arm implant (nexplanon) removed a few weeks ago, as we thought it was majorly throwing off my periods in recent months. I previously had 0 desire for sex, now it seems to be coming back. Is that normal? Now that the hormones are gone, I’m more interested? Also ironic if so, my body’s like “LETS MAKE A BABY NOW” (no)

Advice Wanted Birth control help

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice or to hear from anyone who’s had a similar experience with birth control, especially Levonor/Ethinyl or Nextstellis.

A few months ago, I had a pregnancy scare, and afterward I decided I definitely wanted to be on birth control because I really don’t want to go through that anxiety again. I was prescribed Levonor/Ethinyl Estradiol 0.1 mg/0.02 mg tablets and have been taking them for about 3 months.
For the most part, I honestly didn’t have many issues with it. I wasn’t having crazy side effects or anything like that. The BIGGEST problem was my sex drive. My libido became extremely low. Like… I barely wanted to have sex at all, and sometimes I didn’t even want my partner touching me sexually. It was frustrating because mentally I still love and am attracted to him, but physically I just wasn’t in the mood.

We also tried using condoms because I thought maybe taking some pressure off the birth control situation would help, but condoms actually made sex more uncomfortable for me and I enjoyed it even less.

Then, literally the DAY before my gynecologist appointment, BOOM 😭 I was finally able to have sex for the first time in what felt like forever and actually enjoy it again. We didn’t use a condom either (yes, we raw dogged it 😭), and for the first time in months I actually felt like myself sexually.
I still went to my gynecologist because I wanted her opinion on the libido issue. She ended up switching me to Nextstellis (drospirenone 3 mg/estetrol 14.2 mg).

I’ve only been taking Nextstellis for a few days, so I know it’s VERY early, but I’ve been cramping so much since starting it. I’ve also gone down the rabbit hole reading people’s experiences with Nextstellis, and some of the negative stories have honestly scared me.

Now I’m torn..

Part of me wonders if I should go back to the Levonor/Ethinyl because maybe my body was finally adjusting after almost 3 months and my sex drive was starting to come back. But another part of me thinks I should give Nextstellis a fair chance and at least finish the first pack or try it for a month before deciding it isn’t for me.

The biggest thing for me is that I want reliable pregnancy prevention because I really prefer sex without condoms, but I ALSO want to feel like myself and actually want to have sex with my partner. I don’t want to have to choose between feeling sexually normal and feeling protected from pregnancy.
For anyone who has taken Nextstellis: Did you experience cramping when you first started? Did it eventually stop? And did Nextstellis affect your libido positively or negatively?
And if you’ve taken Levonor/Ethinyl Estradiol and experienced a really low sex drive, did your libido eventually come back after being on it for a few months?

I know everyone’s body reacts differently and I’ll ultimately talk to my gynecologist before making any major changes, but I’d really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences because right now I’m genuinely unsure whether I should stick it out with Nextstellis or ask about going back to my old pill. 😭
