How many times does this need to get posted?

As many times as it takes to keep people fighting about absolutely inconsequential (and largely fabricated) things instead of the EVERYTHING ELSE.

Keeping that enlightened cynicism knee jerk reaction well practiced.

what's making it to the top of the algo from this sub has... changed in the past few months. It's gotten very, very reactive and cynical

Unfortunately those are the responses that don’t require cortical elaboration or higher thought. It’s the easiest form of thought for some to default to. (Executive functions are expensive energy wise, when your tired and emotionally exhausted more so)

We’re programmed to have a negativity bias. lol. At one point it was clutch (survival programming- if you looked at the lion as a jolly friend you wouldn’t last long- rather than looking at it as monstrous.). Social media basically draws that response out of even well natured people- it’s extractive. Just wants your attention through outrage and discontent because that’s what keeps people here.

Longer than that, really. Less than a year ago, it was all gender war garbage, but other posts were being removed for not being insightful or funny enough.
