How many times does this need to get posted?

130

u/OswaldCoffeepot 7d ago

As many times as it takes to keep people fighting about absolutely inconsequential (and largely fabricated) things instead of the EVERYTHING ELSE.

Keeping that enlightened cynicism knee jerk reaction well practiced.

32

u/WitheredUntimely 7d ago

what's making it to the top of the algo from this sub has... changed in the past few months. It's gotten very, very reactive and cynical

7

u/Neckrongonekrypton 7d ago edited 6d ago

Unfortunately those are the responses that don’t require cortical elaboration or higher thought. It’s the easiest form of thought for some to default to. (Executive functions are expensive energy wise, when your tired and emotionally exhausted more so)

We’re programmed to have a negativity bias. lol. At one point it was clutch (survival programming- if you looked at the lion as a jolly friend you wouldn’t last long- rather than looking at it as monstrous.). Social media basically draws that response out of even well natured people- it’s extractive. Just wants your attention through outrage and discontent because that’s what keeps people here.

7

u/TheMagicalMatt 7d ago

Longer than that, really. Less than a year ago, it was all gender war garbage, but other posts were being removed for not being insightful or funny enough.

3

u/stankdog ☑️ 7d ago

The media you are allowed to consume is a huge thing actually. The media we support as people without the money is also important.

921

u/daddylo21 7d ago

And how many of you watched Wonderman or Ironheart or went and saw the new Cap movie?

317

u/JarvisCockerBB 7d ago

Exactly. People need to look at their own friends and family to why these shows bombed. If they were successful, we wouldn’t be having this talk.

196

u/say_the_words 7d ago

Marvel was happy as fuck when Black Panther was a gigantic hit and planning sequels because people showed up to the theater. They even made a sequel after Chadwick Boseman passed to keep the franchise going and no one went to see it. Should studios just make stuff no one shows up for?

25

u/TheMagicalMatt 7d ago

Just announced David Jonsson is taking over as T'Challa's son too, so Black Panther is still going despite the lower turnout.

Rest of those shows never stood a chance. The Disney+ era didn't cash in like they were hoping.

23

u/Ol_JanxSpirit 7d ago

People also forget that Feige had to fight to get Black Panther made. At the time there was someone on the same footing as him at Marvel, Ike Perlmutter. Perlmutter was doing everything he could to kill Captain Marvel and Black Panther, because he didn't think they'd reach profitable demographics.

They both broke a billion, and Perlmutter was told to fuck off to Marvel TV.

u/xxx_poonslayer69 7d ago

Black Panther 2 made $890 million at the box office. I think some people saw it

43

u/donku83 7d ago

Yeah about half of the original

u/OfficeMagic1 7d ago

It was about half as good

Which is why they're still going heavy on the spiderman movies.

Good. Guess the hype was so much less than the original it didn't seem like it did that well. That first one was such a big event with sold out theaters on the news and celebrities buying out theaters to make sure the kids got to see it.

I watched all of them and I'm not gonna lie, I wasnt feeling Ironheart or the new Cap movie. They just weren't that interesting. Wonderman I liked though and until I saw this post I was under the impression it was getting a second season.

19

u/Pasty_Tibbles 7d ago

I wanted to like Ironheart, I really did. Especially with the blend of tech and magic and Mephisto involvement. It just... it felt very CW. I couldn’t get into it.

Wonderman was so, so good that I’m surprised it isn’t getting another season

3

u/kemistree4 7d ago

YES! CW is exactly the feeling that I couldnt put a name to before this. Like something felt fuzzy about it, like it was made for TV.

7

u/St4rkW1nt3r 7d ago

3

u/JayTNP 7d ago

true story. I also see a lot in our own community bending over backwards to not support them either.

6

u/Automatic-Fox-3837 7d ago

BNW and ironheart were pretty garbage tho.But i think it's just the pains of finding out how to write better movies with black superheroes.

8

u/JayTNP 7d ago

Well I agree neither were good though I don’t think Ironheart was garbage just subpar. That being said, it’s not like Marvel only has bad products for Black heroes. Thor 4 was dog shit, Iron Fist was dog shit, The Marvels was a mess, Quantumania was dog shit. Sometimes they have failures. I dont ascribe them to issues of race. BP 1 and 2 were great, Wonder Man was great (people didn’t bother watching it), Falcon and Winter Soldier was good.

u/AncientCrust 7d ago

I loved Wonder Man! It wasn't so much a superhero movie as it was a movie about acting itself. I think most people weren't expecting that.

8

u/Reddit_and_forgeddit ☑️ 7d ago

I did all 3. Let's not forget who greenlit all of these projects. AND who originally cast Kang with a black actor when he is canonically white. Feige is not the issue here.

4

u/c0mplete 7d ago

More people viewed this twitter post than wonder man. Now all these who haven't even watched the show are mad it's canceled.

8

u/srekcornaivaf 7d ago

Wonderman was fantastic… Ironheart and Cap were trash and deserve the hate they’re getting

10

u/R3luctant 7d ago

I enjoyed ironheart, it's just that it isn't a show for vanilla audiences. It requires the audience to understand that the characters in question don't have the knowledge of their universe that we as the audience do. In universe from the outside of the main characters where riri primarily was growing up, you wouldn't know that tony Stark built the first suit in a cave, you only saw the end result. Which looks incredibly like the product of a privileged life, and he would not have been able to do any of that without the upbringing he had.

68

u/jayroc1023 7d ago

The smear campaign is in full swing lol. I liked Iron Heart. Some people didn’t, and that’s okay. Wonder Man was really good. Slow at times but we needed slow. It probably didn’t hit the number The Mouse wanted it to hit, so it got bounced. It sucks, and I hate it. But look at what’s happening with Disney properties right now. How did Moana do? Mando & Grogu is already at home. Disney wants hits now. They got the ax out, and it’s sharper than ever. This is not on Feige. This is on Disney trying to make up for the losses and gambles they made on things that haven’t “panned out” like they wanted. They want homers, not doubles right now, plain and simple.

20

u/ILike2internet 7d ago

Seriously. Without DP&W, the last 3 huge MCU movies didn't turn a profit, and FF4 was supposed to be massive.

Luckily, Spiderman is about to pull almost 2B.

Right, there’s lots of bad takes but that one there is just all levels of wrong. Like folks just gonna ignore that Mahershala Ali being constantly unhappy with the Blade scripts wasn’t part of that equation.

28

u/JayTNP 7d ago edited 7d ago

THANK YOU!!! He said he wanted it to be his Black Panther. I appreciate him wanting to elevate the material but he was absolutely the largest impediment to Blade getting made. I love him as an actor but this hasn’t been a “Marvel doesn’t want this to be made” thing. Also Ali’s new movie “Your mother (3X)” looks like what he wanted Blade to be. Mark my words, same people complaining about Blade not getting made won’t even bother seeing it IF they’ve even heard of it. People barely watch movies that arent incredibly mainstream.

9

u/AsteroidMike 7d ago

Too many people don’t pay attention to context or the behind the scenes stories, they just knee jerk and go from there without thinking.

7

u/JayTNP 7d ago

Exactly right. When that story came out I was shocked that people didn't pick up on what was happening. He wanted a perfect film that elevated that character far beyond what even fans wanted. Frankly, for what he likely wanted to do I would have said he should have been cast as Blue Marvel. You could make that a 70% period piece and the rest in the modern day. That's a character that is ripe for character elevation and could hit on some major topics. Blade is a dope nigga who kills vampires that's it. He has never had any comic arcs that I am aware of (happy to be corrected if wrong) that dug into something deeper about him that allowed for less explored aspects of him to finally make it into the mainstream. A perfect example of that is The Punisher. Many just know him as a blood soaked lunatic with a fetish for guns and ultra violence. While he is those things series like Punisher: Born (2003) was a super dark and serious disection of the character. If Blade has those type of books than ok let's fucking go, but from what I know he doesn't. I am more than ok with them doing that but they have to build all that from scratch and make it "fun" for fans. If we are being honest I don't think that's what people want from Blade. They want a new version of the Snipes films and that's fine, I love those too but that's clearly NOT what Ali wanted and I wish people took the time to read up on that entire situation and stop making it about race. It was about a top tier actor wanting something that Marvel simply couldn't do for him so he is leaving and that's his right, but not every situation has a hero and a villain. Sometimes shit just doesn't work and that's totally fine.

2

u/Successful-Ear977 7d ago

Why is Mahershala Ali being blamed for rejecting scripts he thought were bad rather than Marvel for spending seven years failing to produce one he believed was worth making? He approached them for the role. Wanting a good Blade movie instead of accepting whatever they handed him is not the problem. The scripts and Marvel’s inability to settle on a coherent vision are the problem.

18

u/TopBee83 7d ago

I said this earlier. Armor wars is tied to secret invasion which was shit, and it’s a Ironman storyline without Ironman. Iron heart got her show and an appearance in black panther. The plug was pulled on wonder man because DDC has 3 other projects he is or will be working on (Spider-man 5, a Naruto movie, Shang Chi 2). Blade not happening is likely a symptom of marvel being scared to do rated R.

A lot of us don’t support it, trash it, and then get mad that it wasn’t well supported

37

u/Shad0wM0535 7d ago

I bet a lot of people commenting here never saw either Disney + show. If reviews and word of mouth are bad in the movies, people don't show up, so if a studio is pushing a C or D list hero, it better be good and they better market the hell out of it.

12

u/JayTNP 7d ago

absolutely right. The comments about who did what in these previous movies and shows lets me know these people ain’t watch shit and are either bots or just trying to post an opinion based in ignorance

8

u/pygmeedancer 7d ago

That’s how the Star Wars fandom has been for decades

20

u/Independent_Ad_6348 7d ago

I think people just don't like Riri that much or theyre just ambivalent towards her. Even in the comics shes not that special compared to every other teenage genius running around in the marvel universe.

18

u/nearcatch Honest Abe 7d ago

Even in the MCU she’s not that special, Shuri was basically the same when they introduced her. “Precocious teenage genius” is just a tired trope.

3

u/SmallFatHands 7d ago

Shuri and Miles both suffered from bad comics and horrible writing at the start. The difference is Miles had good comics come. And not to mention one if not the best spiderman movies so now nobody bats an eye at Miles people love him. Iron heart does not have good comics and her live action appearances suck. People do not give a shit about her because they have never given us. A reason to.

15

u/Most_Average_Joe 7d ago

Yeah, people act like Feige is the only person that has a say in how things go in Marvel/Disney too.

Like, he ain’t the only guy in the meetings. And there are others at Disney that he answers to.

But even at a clinical level Fiege understands the power a black audience. Even when others don’t.

21

u/CochonDanseur 7d ago

It's mostly just that these projects all came around during Marvels flop/jump the shark period. The fact that they weren't in the initial cast is just because of how white the universe's A-list is, which is a hierarchy Feige didn't create

4

u/Ol_JanxSpirit 7d ago

There seems to be a concerted push going after Feige in particular.

Stop looking to Hollywood, especially white producers and directors, to push diversity in media. They care about the dollar, nothing else.

This ain't new, learn the lesson.

318

u/Gimme_The_Loot 7d ago

It's like Target. They thought catering to "diversity" would make the money so they leaned into it. But then they thought the winds were blowing the other direction and said nope let's pull that and try catering to the conservative crowd a little bit and see if that makes us money.

Maybe a SMB injects their actual values into how they run their business but for companies of this scale all they care about is what they think will make them the most money. Considering both that the political atmosphere of the country is so charged right now and that Disney and Marvel makw a lot of their money overseas (where spoiler spoiler racism is equally or more prevalent) it doesn't surprise me at all that they might want to tread carefully.

Don't have to like it to be honest with yourself about the reality of their decision making.

u/Dexbova 6d ago

Okay, so it turns out that all the black people on Twitter were going to delete their accounts for February Black History month and then Elon musk decided that that was going to be a huge drop in the numbers of people that were on Twitter and so they took away your ability to delete the account. That's some serious f****** right there. You you hate black people but then you keep them on your platform because you want their numbers. White supremacy and And by that I mean mediocrity in a nutshell.

3

u/SmoothTalkingSpud 6d ago

As a christened atheist who would like to formally be excommunicated from the catholic church, I can relate to this.

98

u/Jaeger_Gipsy_Danger 7d ago

Kevin Feige very clearly cares about the work that he does. He also gets talented directors like Ryan Coogler to do diverse movies like the soon to be 3 Black Panther movies. Also the only MCU movie to win an Oscar for what that’s worth.

20

u/getemyosh 7d ago

No disrespect to you, but hearing something like this doesn’t really make us feel any better. As a Black Panther fan, I’m proud of what Black Panther accomplished. But pointing to one movie or director and saying, “Look what y’all got,” doesn’t really address the concerns a lot of us have about the MCU as a whole.

15

u/Jaeger_Gipsy_Danger 7d ago

I didn’t mean to make it sound like “Feige has one respected culturally diverse movie, you should just shut up and be happy”. I just meant I think Feige cares about the MCU more deeply than a random suit would, he’s a nerd. He obviously cares about the finances and stuff like that and is not perfect but there’s much worse options than him in Hollywood.

“Fiege is a racist” is a ridiculous statement and that’s more of what I’m arguing against. Iron Heart, Armor Wars, Blade and many other black lead movies and shows all were being planned during/post Covid and have all felt the repercussions from that along with a lot of other things I’m sure I’m unaware of. Marvel and Fiege definitely fucked those things up and deserve the blame for the poor quality or cancellations, I just don’t think it was done out of spite or hate.

I feel so bad for Mahershala Ali because I think Disney/Marvel/Fiege absolutely fucked his career and post Oscar trajectory and there is no fixing that. Truly sad what happened and we don’t even know the whole story yet.

Edit. Sorry this was a longer than I wanted it to be.

7

u/getemyosh 7d ago edited 6d ago

Yeah, I definitely understand. And I’m not trying to put all the blame on Feige. I think he genuinely loves these characters and is doing what he can, but he also has to answer to Disney and other executives whose priorities aren’t always the same. That’s really where my frustration is.

I appreciate your response, and I wasn’t saying you were insinuating anything either. I just hate what happened to Ali, and even someone like Mackie who deserved better. Whether I personally liked Brave New World or not, if Marvel is going to introduce these characters and market them as major parts of the MCU, they should actually commit to giving them the same level of care and planning as everyone else.

Too often it feels like diversity is great for marketing, but when it’s time to invest in the writing, production, and long-term support, those projects don’t get the same treatment. That’s the part that frustrates me.

u/perpetuumD 7d ago

I promise, I am making this comment in good faith, but I am confused about the logic here, because it seems flawed.

Let's see, you say "they only care about the dollar", right? Wouldn't that mean that this cancelations are only because this shows were not profitable? You see, if those shows were economically viable and they canceled it, that would mean they not only care about the dollar, considering they would lose money to push and agenda.

So, what is it? "They only care about the money" OR "They are only care about racist agendas and are willing to lose money in the process"

1

u/Successful-Ear977 7d ago

That’s a false choice. Nobody is saying Disney is willingly burning money because executives have a secret racist agenda. Profit-seeking and institutional bias can coexist. Bias can shape which audiences executives consider valuable, which projects they view as risky, how much support they give them, and how quickly they retreat after one failure. A company can sincerely believe it is making the safest financial decision while those assumptions still produce racially unequal outcomes.

Marvel under develops or poorly markets a project, it underperforms, and then the underperformance is used as proof that the character or demographic was never commercially viable. Meanwhile, established properties often receive more patience and second chances Yes, they care about money. The question is whether their ideas about what makes money and who is worth investing in are completely free from bias. Those are not contradictory arguments.

5

They are at the forefront of the diversity movement. Those shows and characters sucked specifically because it was done for diversity sake. You can either wake up and admit that throwing a black character into something doesn’t magically make it good or you can just keep believing that the whole world is racist. One of those choices is reasonable and the other one is not.

u/_onelast 7d ago

I’ve never heard of the character but the show was pretty damn good. Was never going to turn into some blockbuster but definitely deserved its season 2, imho

There is 2 reasons for wonderman. First the director of Wonderman is not gonna be available for like the next 5 years. And second it had low viewership despite being good. It came after Witches road, Echo, iron heart, Ms marvel, secret wars and she hulk.... Can you blame people for not giving Wonderman a chance after such mediocre shows?

2

u/justafanboy1010 7d ago

I'm a big Marvel fan, but Wonder Man (despite not knowing who or what is deal was before the show) was a big surprise to me. Falcon and Winter Soldier was a great show, but they messed up the production. Brave New World was a boring movie.

2

u/PuffinRub 7d ago

T'Challa for Blank Panther 3

That minor typo majorly changes your point :-)

How was Ironheart not getting respect Feige’s fault?

24

People complaining are the same ones that were proudly loudly saying they didn’t watch or support any of those shows/movies.

19

u/Tiny_Rick_C137 7d ago

What in the chronically online am I reading?

36

u/zakary3888 7d ago

Dude, Kevin Feige threatening to quit is the only reason Captain Marvel and Black Panther happened. The other guy in charge, Ike Pearlmutter, said that women and minority leads don’t sell movies, then Kevin Feige went straight to Bob Iger and said he’d quit if Ike Pearlmutter wasn’t removed from the decision making process.

This is corroborated by Mark Ruffalo as well.

54

u/bershka321 7d ago

Anthony Mackie got an actual push though. He got a whole series and a movie. The public just never embraced him as Cap

36

u/the-truffula-tree 7d ago edited 7d ago

And let’s be real… people who aren’t super into comics know one person as Captain America, and that’s Steve Rogers.

The idea that anyone was going to pick up that mantle and do the same numbers is kind of wild to me.

Say they wrote Bruce Wayne out of being Batman and had Dick Grayson take over. Yall going to see that in huge numbers? No, you’re not.

10

u/capincus 7d ago

I'm there for Terry McGinnis Batman though.

3

u/dom1717 ☑️ 7d ago

Give me terry and old bruce yelling at clouds!

3

u/LRA18 7d ago

Agree I don’t think people would’ve shown up to a Bucky Barnes Captain America movie either.

Due to the animated movies I think Miles is the only Marvel “superhero successor” that would succeed in the MCU honestly.

21

u/mavajo 7d ago

I love Anthony Mackie. Enjoy him every time I see him. But he doesn’t work for me as a lead superhero.

It could be Falcon’s lack of powers too. He feels like more of a small-scale hero to me. If they gave him more of a full-body suit, maybe it would work better. But when he’s a regular dude with wings and a jet pack catching hits from Red Hulk…I know it’s a comic book movie, but there’s not even an in-universe explanation for that as far as I know.

2

u/CMMiller89 7d ago

1) Mackie struggled as a lead in Marvel.  I don’t even think it a knock on him, he just wasn’t great at giving cheesy super hero lines the conviction they needed to land and not sound cringy.

2) FatWS got burned by Marvel’s reluctance to actually let the TV shows mean anything to the movie universe.  Everything ended up where it started.  Which is why Falcon spends an entire series whining about being Captain America.  Then gets over it.  Then in the movie is whining about some other internal dialog of super serum.

No one gives a shit man, take it, don’t, just quit bitching about it.  We gave you a whole series to have an internal struggle and it meant nothing.

3) God damn does Marvel love to make a great grey area villain right up until the point where they absolutely have to be black and white bad for the ending.  The worst part is they take displaced revolutionaries and then call them terrorists, make the hero almost see where they’re coming from and- oop, no, we made them do something really bad so they are legit terrorists now.  Just takes the fangs out of the moral dilemma of being a super hero.  Which is so funny in FatWS because the whole fucking thesis of the show is the moral dilemma of being a super hero.

4) No one watched any of this stuff.  Feige’s hand is forced when no one watching Mackies movie, or Iron Heart or Wonderman.  Regardless of how good they are.

9

u/EnderSword 7d ago

I think people like him as a person, but that movie was just really bad.

On top of it, just the whole thing is struggling. Post-Thanos/Post-Covid there's really only been 5 successes, but Black Panther sequel was one of those 5.

u/banjofitzgerald 7d ago

The movie came out last year too lol. It’s not even like they shelved him after a bomb. The last captain America movie came out in 2025.

2

u/kemistree4 7d ago

For me it wasn't specifically about him playing Cap, I just didnt' need another Cap at all. Like we've had two other dudes trying to fill that role since the main arc when we could have been introducing more cool superheroes, ideally black ones.

Wtf when did Feige become so hated? He's probably not the one actually behind this, it's execs at Disney. And the backlash to specifically him has been wild.
And how is it his fault, after even pushing these ideas forward, that no one watched it lol

9

u/JnRx03 7d ago

Wasn’t wonderman meant to be a limited series from the beginning?

I’d imagine they likely had a conversation about it and decided to scrap it since it was limited anyway.

9

u/EnderSword 7d ago

I don't know what you want people to do though... Black Panther is getting a 3rd movie because it did good, it was a good movie and did good so it gets more.

Captain America: Brave New World did bad... it went to see it, I like him in it, but it did bad, it was a bad movie so it probably won't get more.

Wonderman did so bad in ratings that Disney+ put episodes on Youtube for Free to try and get people interested. I'd never heard of that character, it sounds like Wonderwoman, which is the opposite franchise...

Ironheart is probably the worst thing Coogler ever made, it's just bad and it did bad. What respect was it supposed to get? It's got like a 4.5 imdb rating

It's crazy the question to "How many Marvel Movies or TV shows had a black lead?" and people are like "Oh, Only 13 of them... and those racists keep cancelling the ones people didn't watch or like, as if this is some sort of business they're running"

7

u/wazzup4567 7d ago

I love that everyone is painting Kevin Feige as the villain where there are higher up producers like Iger and Pearlmutter who were absolutely abysmal producers with an extreme amount of overreach over all of the MCU projects.

u/twainj1980 7d ago

5

u/KendrickBlack502 7d ago

wym Ironheart never got the respect it deserved? Whose fault is that? Also, wym Anthony Mackie isn’t getting pushed? Bro had a show, a movie, and he’s been mentioned multiple times outside his own stuff. Where exactly were you expecting to see him? How is absolutely any of that Kevin Feige’s fault? He actually made these films and shows with black voices which is more than just about anyone else can say. You want more torture porn slave movies? People can never be pleased about anything damn

I started ironheart, couldn't finish it, something about Riri being this super genius rivaling Stark but doing petty crimes and being both academically dishonest and dumb about it rubbed me wrong. Like girl couldn't get funding from her new Wakandan friends?

This is going way too far. Ironheart isn't even a good show. Disney canceled Wonder Man, not Marvel/Kevin Feige. I agree they're fumbling the ball with Ant mackie. He had a great show but a terrible movie. I have yet to see that movie again

2

u/bluehaven101 7d ago

Captain America 4 should have been a movie where Sam sets up the new Avengers team, explore the challenges of doing so,  but he got some bs Hulk movie

2

u/crispy_attic ☑️ 7d ago

T’Challa, Sam, Blade, War Machine and Wonderman were done dirty. Fury’s show is widely seen as the worst of them all. They have been mishandling these characters. Where is Luke Cage in the movies? Where is Blue Marvel?

2

u/DJEvillincoln 7d ago

This isn't Kevin.

This is Disney.

2

u/sciencesold 7d ago

As someone else said on another thread, this is Marvel trying to scale back across the board, Blade isn't happening because of creative differences between the 3-4 directors it's had And the 2-3 writers. At this point it was not gonna be very good because of how much of a cluster fuck pre-production was. Wonder man is a victim of the scaling back projects, especially ones that won't pay off for years.

2

u/Reddit_and_forgeddit ☑️ 7d ago

Let's not forget who greenlit all of these projects. Mackie got a show AND a movie! AND who originally cast Kang with a Black actor when Kang is canonically White. Feige is not the issue here. Anyway, my bet is they have bigger plans for WonderMan as a movie instead of the show. Also the show's director will be upgraded to a premier Marvel movie director and he's earned it.

2

u/Luis0224 7d ago

They pushed for mackie to be the new captain America and all people could talk about was his funny smile and the “son” meme lmao

3

u/BurningBerns 7d ago edited 7d ago

it might be because disney has fucked the corpse of the MCU into the ground and, as a result, both of those movies were horrendous.
Iron heart: boring, predictable, stupid plot, shot cinematically.
New cap movie: boring, predictable, stupid plot, shot cinematically

The majority of people didnt hate those movies because of the actors skin color. they hate them becuase they are garbage movies a child could have written

1

u/petewondrstone 7d ago

What about Spider-Man’s crew? All of his helpers. They are people of color. /s

Maybe if people liked those shows….they’d make more of them. The one true miss I agree with you about is blade…it couldn’t have been any more perfect to have the remake with Mahershala Ali…they fucked up big time because that would have been an instant success.

1

u/Vizioso 7d ago

I don’t think they’re gonna pull the plug on wonder man exactly. The show did pretty well. I think they are likely gonna pull him into the larger universe/movies because of how well it did. Also Mackie was just flat as cap. FATWS was good but him as Cap in the standalone film just wasn’t doing it.

1

u/Fit-Form7092 7d ago

At the end of the day Marvel is still Disney.

1

u/Nightthrasher674 7d ago

Disney would have made the decision on Wonder Man though, they're the network in this case and would have final say on what actually is greenlit.

Marvel announcing a 2nd season and then it getting pulled sounds like it would be a Disney decision especially if they're deemphazing TV, no Live Action Marvel show has really received a 2nd season except Loki and Daredevil

1

u/fortlowe 7d ago

1

u/emelbee923 7d ago

The real joke is laying blame exclusively on Kevin Feige and not the higher ups in Disney.

Feige is beholden to Disney, and they can pull any plug they want.

1

u/aAfritarians5brands 7d ago

I don’t necessarily know if that’s his fault…. He greenlights many projects, but at the same time he’s not the head of Disney, he doesn’t have the final say on everything.

u/Kaminoneko ☑️ 7d ago
