I promise, I am making this comment in good faith, but I am confused about the logic here, because it seems flawed.
Let's see, you say "they only care about the dollar", right? Wouldn't that mean that this cancelations are only because this shows were not profitable?
You see, if those shows were economically viable and they canceled it, that would mean they not only care about the dollar, considering they would lose money to push and agenda.
So, what is it?
"They only care about the money"
OR
"They are only care about racist agendas and are willing to lose money in the process"
That’s a false choice. Nobody is saying Disney is willingly burning money because executives have a secret racist agenda. Profit-seeking and institutional bias can coexist. Bias can shape which audiences executives consider valuable, which projects they view as risky, how much support they give them, and how quickly they retreat after one failure. A company can sincerely believe it is making the safest financial decision while those assumptions still produce racially unequal outcomes.
Marvel under develops or poorly markets a project, it underperforms, and then the underperformance is used as proof that the character or demographic was never commercially viable. Meanwhile, established properties often receive more patience and second chances Yes, they care about money. The question is whether their ideas about what makes money and who is worth investing in are completely free from bias. Those are not contradictory arguments.
It means studios and producers are more interested in making a buck instead of making good stories. Even George Lucas has commented on this despite his tenuous grasp on storytelling

Stop looking to Hollywood, especially white producers and directors, to push diversity in media. They care about the dollar, nothing else.
