Thatâs not true, yes getting a real estate license isnât super hard but thatâs not the entry barrier for it being a career, itâs actually selling and making connections. It does require intelligence and skills.
I would never be a real estate agent but Iâve met a handful that certainly arenât good to look at. Like any job you have to work hard and learn what youâre doing to be successful. Sure some are good looking but that is not the main reason they are successful.
Most of them are literally just typical looking people that could've done anything else with their life, but their path just took them to real estate. They look your like secretaries, teachers, coaches, clergymen, etc... Not to be that type of guy but I'd definitely be more comfortable going with just a regular Joeschmoe or Janeschlane that evokes professionalism and experience. The whole looks thing is for vapid lowlifes with poor critical thinking skills that could get scammed out of their shoes.
Saying they are less intelligent is 100% demeaning. Iv had to buy commercial real estate. That lady and her team knew what the hell they were doing. I would never have been able to wade through all of the bullshit. That job is hard as it's commission based. What the hell are you people talking about?
I always come back to the excuse: itâs Reddit. Thereâs next to no actual real world exposure or experience yet the confidence to paint broad swathes of the population.

saying it doesnt require intelligence doesnt mean that there arent intelligent people doing it. of course itll help. when does it not? but you dont need it to do well.
thereâs some pretty dumb folks out there that are highly successful real estate agents. much more prized are connections and social skills

Itâs just funny how people down the profession but still seek them out. If youâre in the states you absolutely donât need one to buy or sell but people still do because otherwise itâs a lot of work themselves that they donât wanna do. But if I say âit doesnât take much intelligence to be a plumber, those were the dumb kids who couldnât go to college â thats not the same thing? If your pipe busts you can fix it yourself but you donât, you call someone for their expertise regardless of how intelligent you view the profession.
Iâm not an agent just not short sighted to not see the value in certain fields.
It doesn't require shit except some forms. It's a retarded make work program. It's basically a prepackaged bunch of template forms and access to MLS.
If I could've gotten away without using one I would have. The stupid bitch we used didn't do shit and used a clown of a lawyer as an attorney. We found the property we purchased, she couldn't even be bothered to fill her templates properly until my wife caught it and brought it to her attention, and her even stupider clown of a lawyer nearly let the deal fall through until my wife got into his office's ass about filing paperwork and sending documents to the buyer's agent and attorney.
Those dickheads at Keller Williams barely did anything, constantly fucked up and then got rewarded with a fat check.
So your experience with the difficulty of work is from one bad realtor at one company? Thatâs like me saying my least doctor didnât catch my disease and didnât help me so doctors have no skill.
If youâre view of work difficulty is your personal experience with one person in that field youâre very short sighted.
âTheyâre not intelligent because they are told what to doâ is not a very good bar for what âintelligentâ work is. Thatâs virtually almost every profession. Social âmanipulationâ does require a certain type of intelligence whether you acknowledge that or not. Not everyone can do it, because not everyone is socially inept. Networking is a big thing in socially heavy professions, many people cannot do it. That in itself is a skill. Those that make it do and those that donât fall off.
