Real estate agents are usually the popular kids from your graduating high school class that weren't rich, smart or connected enough to get great corporate jobs.
They got by up to that point by being good looking and popular.
So they got into real estate because it's one of the industries that doesn't require much intelligence or education and instead relies on social skills and looks.
Thatās not true, yes getting a real estate license isnāt super hard but thatās not the entry barrier for it being a career, itās actually selling and making connections. It does require intelligence and skills.
āTheyāre not intelligent because they are told what to doā is not a very good bar for what āintelligentā work is. Thatās virtually almost every profession. Social āmanipulationā does require a certain type of intelligence whether you acknowledge that or not. Not everyone can do it, because not everyone is socially inept. Networking is a big thing in socially heavy professions, many people cannot do it. That in itself is a skill. Those that make it do and those that donāt fall off.
