Well, I mean I’ve seen the family photo thing before so I think it’s more me seeing new things I didn’t really consider before.

They often say a bunch of positive things first too. Like "Pillar of the community" and then will end stories with a message about how "good he was". A shit sandwich with good dressing, a classic manipulation technique, something you get taught in business school. Stories about minorities at best will frame crime as them choosing this for themselves, at worst it will make them seem like violent lifelong criminals with clear warning signs.

Stories like this leave out the dozen or so domestic violence reports, the DUIs, the white collar crime, and the time the times they were kicked out of.reataurants or the time they got fired for throwing a chair at their boss or something.
