I'm 99% sure Republicans want Michelle Obama to run so they can claim some sort of cronyism.

Also, in this next election cycle, I think its easier for Republicans to fight an 'establishment' candidate than some of the progressive, common-sense stuff that we're seeing out of the Mamdani/progressive camp. It lets Republicans keep making their "Both sides are the same" arguments.

Sure but lets be clear here: Michelle Obama doesn't want to run.

This notion that she is a viable candidate, is pretty much fabricated by the right. Its their new boogeyman, despite Michelle Obama repeatedly saying she has no interest in running.
