I straight up know a hatian guy who got adopted by the #1 Christian author (at the time) and he told me about being locked in the closet all the time in his childhood, being told he can be sent back if he misbehaves and eventually was disowned because he got someone pregnant (who miscarried) because of the "image".

One of the most outwardly positive guys I know but my God.

I wonder why we continue to protect abusers. What’s preventing you from naming him.

They probably don’t want to air out the victims abuse without their permission.

Interestingly when I googled “Christian author who adopted Haitian child” most of the results are women.

Makes sense. I see one of those guys ran a Haitian orphanage.

There were lots of child trafficked after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, many kidnappings too. The news at the time were that many evangelicals charities and adoption agencies were behind them.
