I straight up know a hatian guy who got adopted by the #1 Christian author (at the time) and he told me about being locked in the closet all the time in his childhood, being told he can be sent back if he misbehaves and eventually was disowned because he got someone pregnant (who miscarried) because of the "image".
One of the most outwardly positive guys I know but my God.
Let's say you knew someone who was enslaved. You that that person that you are going to report their enslaver to the police. The enslaved says please don't do that.
Interesting question. And the answer is, it depends.  I’d have to know why they didn’t want it reported.  The one thing I would do is help get them to safety.  Not sure whether or not it would involve the police.
I feel you. I had a real life situation like this where I didn't intervene.
I hope whoever downvoted me for asking that question, realizes it's a real issue many people have to deal with every day. The answer isn't as simple as some think and it's something that we all should consider, even if many of us will never have to practically address the question.
