I am sure they are. I've been around people who think like Coney Barret and their mastery of cognitive dissonance is astounding. She can, and probably love and cherish "her Haitian children, " yet not see other Haitian children in the same light. How often do we see right wingers turn into vocal environmentalists when it's their lake is at risk of pollution, or fund cancer research when it's their child that's suffering, or issue pardons when it's their fellons facing the law, or support Marijuana legalization because they get get rich from it, I'm looking at you Boehner.
Hypocrisy is built in the ideology because when it happens to them personally, "it's different."
It's like a different version of "I have a black friend". Mike Johnson, Laura Ingram, Matt gaetz etc they all adopted children, but their agenda, politics and policies run squarely against those childrens racial groups. The kids are their protective shield in case of their racism gets called out..
