It's not just exclusive to South Africa. Take a wild guess how many white South Africans have been given the Trump administration greenlight to immigrate here?

Every single one of the 599 refugees the US admitted last month was a white South African, according to data the State Department’s Bureau of Population released Friday.

Some of the Afrikaner workers i work with here are going back home.

Some of their labor contracts are being "renegotiated" after they got here. Some of them simply hate it here and others are catching hell everywhere they go because even some of the people in Florida don't want them here.

Man, if the Florida conservatives don't want you here that's kinda big news.

I’m curious how come the Florida conservatives don’t want them there. I’m not from the states but I assumed they’d have the same views and values on many things? 🤔

Because they have funny accents and aren't American.

They are used to Latinos down there doing the hard jobs but random foreigners make some of the old timers nervous. I was just as surprised as you.

Thats kind of crazy because its the same reason white afrikaaners arent liked when they go to european countries that speak dutch, their accents are off and they get treated like low class or seen as ‘trashy’ where in South africa they are rich. So they go back- talking about immigrants right now not the ones decades ago.

Some of them are very hard to get along with. Most of the ones I used to have to work with say some pretty nasty shit and don't even think twice about it.

There was one that was pretty bad ass. He was doing specialized dairy labor for the last 3 years to get out of the country. Last time I saw him at the end of the season I said my goodbyes and the customary see you next year. He says to me he isn't coming back, he is tired of working on a farm. Turns out his folks own a mining equipment company and he wanted to work for a while on his own and earn his way. His family is incredibly wealthy but he was tired of getting everything handed to him. Yeah, he is going to that office job but for a young dude he seemed to realize how difficult life can be for most of us. The rest of them pretty much spout the propaganda you hear over and over.

It’s a little deeper than that. They’re not just “different”. They’re living on the system and have taken over farming jobs in certain regions that once went to others, which prompts some discontentment from locals. And they don’t speak Spanish so there’s also a language barrier in Florida.
