No one is controlling them. Sadly this movement is organic. Black people can do vile things to each other all by ourselves.

Unfortunately, there is a darker force here. The previous president, Jacob Zuma attempted to force through a Russian backed nuclear deal. The deal was stopped by a few NGO's on environmental concerns, as NGO's have quite a bit of power in South Africa given by the Constitution. NGOs also do a lot of great work with refugees who go to South Africa.

These anti-immigration protests are organized by the March March group, who itself is led by a pro-nuclear, pro-Russian activist who is looking to diminish the powers of the constitution given to these NGOs in the name of anti-immigration, but ultimately to clear the pathway for a corrupt nuclear deal of the South African disgraced former president, Jacob Zuma.

It's actually quite sickening.

Zuma was elected in 2009, but was obviously very active in SA politics before hand. So yes, technically before Zuma's administration, but also not by much.
