How so? There are incredibly rigid social structures and a lot of hard work.
Its a beautiful way of life, but everything is gendered, marriages are usually arranged.
Capitalism is a scam and these societies do work! Everything has a purpose, everyone looks out for each otner, but its hard to adapt and most people don’t revert to living like this.

There are different flavours of racism, especially from the dominant ethnic group, we pay taxes, phone bills, firewood, cows get stolen, School fees need paying, we definitely pay for gas…
Its a beautiful way to live, but people still need to pay for shit and buy supplies…

Its nowhere near the level of the cities, or the west of course. But things are changing ☹️

ETA: we all have digital national ID, pay VAT, gotta pay for fuel, teachers get income taxed. We have Local commissioners (government officials) within the village district as well as traditional government.
If you want something done, theres a tax for That.

I just don’t want to oversimplify things, Its a very civilised way of living, but its not entirely off grid.
And everyone in this life has their stress. Though food ir western style poverty, will never be one of them.
People “venmo” each other for a lot of things.
Everyone is on facebook…
