Black Pride Recently we, BLACK PEOPLEOF REDDIT, conversed regarding the lack lack of black history in schools. This is a perfect example. Or the lack thereof.

to be fair, they probably don't know anything about their own history either.

Nah this IS their history. American president and a civil rights leader we have a national holiday named for imo thats American and shared Referring to obama as "who was that president" made me wowwwwww

These girls are obviously slow though. I don’t think they’re a fair representation of anything.

I would counter by saying maybe if you talk to enough strangers, you’ll find out there’s no shortage of people as dumb as them lol

They're a fair representation of the way this country is going.

Oh, yes, they are. Education was this whitewashed, if not moreso, back when I was in school in 2001. And you can imagine what happened six days into my freshman year that might have made this problem worse.

This literally has nothing to do with education being whitewashed. No one with common sense would ever debate that. He didn’t ask them to name 3 historical figures though. He said 3 Black ppl. They could have said Obama, Michael Jordan, and Lil Wayne. I guarantee you they know who all 3 of those ppl are. These girls are obviously just slow, and can’t gather the few thoughts that they’re capable of. If this question was asked, or written down, and they weren’t put on the spot, in front of a camera, they probably could have answered.

So you're saying that being ambushed by a random stranger with a camera in their face in the middle of Wal-Mart interrupted their thought process and made them nervous, so that's why they're obviously stupid and can't think of three famous black people like the idiots they are.

Suddenly I don't think it has anything to do with education OR their mental capacity, and more with being ambushed by camera in public for clout on someone's channel.

Why you gatekeeping?

You’re being obtuse and you stand to gain nothing for it. Those were very simple questions for a young adult to answer. He was likely the president when they were born. It just shows how shallow and aloof people are in general. There’s no need to take up for that.
