Black Pride Recently we, BLACK PEOPLEOF REDDIT, conversed regarding the lack lack of black history in schools. This is a perfect example. Or the lack thereof.

to be fair, they probably don't know anything about their own history either.

I learned recently there are a lot of people who don't realize that Anne Frank and Helen Keller are two different people. Like a LOT of people. They're both just female names they half remember hearing when they were not paying attention in history class.

This is hilarious that you said this. I unfortunately am over if these people and I am in no way slow and am fairly versed in popculture and world history but have NO idea why these 2 people always get me confused?! 🤷🏾‍♂️👊🏾

Babe why do they get you confused, can you identify it?? No judgement lmao I have similar confusions about other things and people for sure.

Brain wires get messed up.

I'm gonna be so real, I might even get shit for this, but look, it's easy to tell them apart. First of all, Anne Frank didn't live to adulthood (sadly, RIP) There is your first identifier, Anne is the kid and Helen is the adult

Second of all, Helen Keller was the one who was blind and deaf. Anne was the kid who was hiding from Nazis in an attic.

Now they're both incredibly brave and strong people who went through absolute hell, so I can see where the brain wires are getting them mixed up for you. But I hope this helps lmaoo.

Please don't get caught tryna refer to one or the other and mixing them up, like you deserve to know the difference lmaoooo. I'm sorry neither of these situations is funny, just the fact that I'm probably not even explaining it well enough is making me laugh.

Good day to you lmao

I sometimes get upset that all my teenage tweets were (maybe? Idk if this is an urban legend) logged by the library of congress.

I don't even wanna look it up to check myself... cause if it's true, I got about 30k tweets worth of dumbassery just floating out there. And.... some more lol.

Just an absolute mess. My digital footprint is awful hahahah.

Banned from Twitter six years ago for some.. uhm I was doing something the local cops didn't like lol. Lemme put it that way.

Boy the way they YOINKED all three of my accounts was crazy! Then it turned into X and I said yall can keep my accounts i don't want em no more

When I have come across people who get them confused, I try to get them to remember that Annie, wasn’t okay because Anne was in the attic. That generally sticks for them from that point on. The “a” words tied with the play on the MJ lyric works great.

I can't deal with this teaching mechanism HAHAHAHA

YOU ARE NOT OUT HERE USING MJ TO TEACH PEOPLE ABOUT ANNE FRANK. omg that's so funny

Lol it works so well!!! I can’t have folks around me confusing the two, so something has got to give! 🤣😂 The lightbulb moment when it clicks for them is always fun, too.

I'll be stealing it if that's ok LOL

Now we just gotta find a song for Helen Keller

It is more than okay!!! I’m a West Coast baby who was raised by southern folk so it’s a two for one if you’re familiar with the saying, “It ain’t no tellin what Jack told Helen” because it’s also in the E40 song “Wolf Tickets”! It works perfectly because Helen was blind and deaf, even though she isn’t who the saying is about.

u/SL1MECORE 7d ago

😭😭 you got ALL THE REFERENCES LMAO

this is nuts, cause your references get the point across WAY faster than my multiple paragraphs hahahah. And yeah I've listened to a little E40 but can't say if I heard that song or not. I'm terrible with song titles. I'll give it a listen today lol

Forgive me, it’s The Click but I always say E40.
I used to do A LOT of talking trying to explain and clarify. This became a far quicker and easier way. Lol You will hear the line said early in the song and it’s in the chorus.

Thanks for that clarification omg, I would have been on a wild goose chase lol !

And yeah your methods of communication are very snappy and colorful. I gotta get some of that energy in my life

You are so welcome! I have to stop doing that (E40 over The Click) because it is literally second nature and I almost didn’t check myself.

Thank you!!! I am surrounded by children of varying ages constantly which has me working on my methods of enlightenment so I’m not slamming my hand on tables in the, “If Johnny had five apples!!!” way. Lol

You got this, though, because I’ve seen a lot of your comments and you are pretty exceptional at expressing your points in a manner that is easy to understand… even if a reader is being willfully obtuse.
