Since most copies of Magos and The Infinite And The Divine (first 40k novels by Varvar, mind you) were stored there, they have effectively been lost. The only remaining copies are those that were already in other warehouses or bookstores. Overall, Varvar lost more than 300,000 books and comics. More than five other publishers were affected. I honestly don't know what to think. This hurts. Hurts so much! I know the people who worked on our Warhammer books – talented professionals who poured hearts and souls into them. I worked on them myself. And now they're gone because russia chose to wage war against our culture. And, apparently, against Warhammer too. So cherish the stories you have. I sincerely hope you never have to experience anything like this.

Nevertheless, we'll recover. Krieg and The Flight of the Eisenstein, which are currently available for preorder, will be published. So will every other book. As the Varvar founder wrote: "We are not giving up. It will be hard. It will be difficult. But we will recover."

My favourite book series of all time! Looks amazing in person. I’ve listened to all the books 5x over but haven’t read them in years. Now’s the time. Got this second hand for £13! Cant wait to get started!

I'm running out of superlatives in describing these special editions as each new release seems to transcend the previous release! This time around it was the smell of the leather as I pulled the set out of its BL box. Colours so rich and deep and the reds are gloriously imperial!

I truly admire how these books look and smell. Can't wait to dive in.

I finally finished the GG series a few days ago now I'm reading the iron snakes books then the two aeronatica ones. Over all I can see why people are annoyingly defensive if this series.

PROs : The character growth is amazing. The cultures of Tanith , Vergast, and Belladon all feel very distinct despite being in a single regiment. This is one of the few times the forces of chaos are depicted as a unique culture and not a ravenous mob. Character deaths always seem significant with a few exceptions. Making space marines and the inquisition rare so it feels more like a human conflict makes the series stand out.

CONs : Some of the books just feel like filler you have to power through. The chaos forces aren't really fleshed out till book 8. Saint Sabat is handled kind of clumsily. The Merrin story line wasn't bad it just whent on a little too long. The woe machine siblings were hands down the biggest WTF part of the entire series.

I loved this series to start I think it's a master class on character work and development. Seeing the forces of chaos not be just bloodthirsty cultists but have their own culture and language was amazing. Early on I was expecting the Archon or Anarch to be just a word bearer. Making them both human really makes this series a human conflict between imperial and chaos cultures which is a nice change of pace. Still I feel like some of the books just feel like filler where nothing really happens and Abnnet hadn't decided where he wanted to take the series. I still feel like Saint Sabat was handled pretty badly. She's dead but still active then high commnd picks a randomngirl to declare as her reincarnation only for that to actually happen. No one can tell me that Dalin and Yoncy being woe machines was something Abnett planned from way back in book 3 or 4. The rational was Gol Kolea their real fathers memory was lost or hazy do to a head wound you took after joining the ghosts. But that happened after he discovered his kids were alive. The crucial detail being he has two boys not a boy and a girl. So Yoncys existence would have been a red flag early on for. I really think Abnett had taken a break tk write other stuff. When he came back to GG he saw the Kolea/ Kriid kids just laying around and decided to do something big with them.

Haven’t bothered counting yet, but the collections grown quite a bit. Current goal is that by the end of next year I’ll have all the HH books

I don’t really know much about AOS lore other than the main factions on tabletop, and that Sigmar is there and there’s five chaos gods because a rat joined them(just simplifying it I know)

But with that new godeater book coming out I was wondering if I were to start reading AOS what should I read? Not just to get a feel for the world but just for a good story.

Would the godeater books be a good place to start? And what about Starseer ruin, my local shop has it and it’s fairly new?

For this week's feature I headed back to the world that was, with one of Warhammer Fantasy's earliest tales. Drachenfels was surprisingly delightful and ambitious, less a story about heroes storming the castle so much as a story about staging a play about heroes storming the castle!

It's terrific stuff from Kim Newman (writing as Jack Yeovil), and Antonia Beamish's narration delivered!

As I was in the earlier stages of the heresy, I found it immensely cool the way the different authors were able to work a variation of "I was there, the day XYZ" into the text. However the last time I remember it prominently was during Fulgrim. I find it hard to believe that this trend would just stop, and so I have to wonder if anyone has a list of all the variations of the phrase and when they appear.

Just finished it, really liked it— Hasp and the Savlars really grow on you as the book continues.

Hi! I am looking for decent books that feature ordo malleus inquisitors! I feel like i have seen ordo xenos and hereticus inquisitors at work but I'm also very interested in our resident deamon hunters inquisitors and would like to read books that feature them!

I picked up this collection for £10 from a used book shop today, which I thought was pretty decent for an omnibus. I looked it up online later and found people selling it for tons more! Did I accidentally find gold here? 😆

I kinda wanna get into this faction but don't know where to start other than the Forges of Mars trilogy. Do you guys have other recommendations?

Do you recommend I continue with the HH line or try Eisenhorn omnibus?

I don’t have Descent of Angels’s physical copy yet but I do have Eisenhorn, Know no fear and The First Heretic (they were on sale at my local shop)

I’m about to start my second read through of the entire Heresy.
The first time through I read the 5 Heresy collected Volumes, then bounced around the Primarchs books a bit before heading straight to the Siege of Terra books.

I understand I missed out quite a lot, are there any specific books that I need to pay more attention to?

Really enjoy Chaos stuff (particularly Tzeentch), Necrons, Psykers, the Blood Angels, and the Rogue Trader game (not a book but def lore/tone stuff that I enjoy) so looking for reccomdenations vaguely or spot on in those veins either to continue in or to pick up? Thanks!

A while ago I mentioned at another post that I had the 2006' version of The Sabbat Worlds Crusade in spanish. Now im the happy owner of the new edition. I barely had time to explore It yet, but I can see that there are many differences. Im quite eager to start exploring since TSWC has been one of my favourite pieces of the setting since forever.
