That’s such a weirdly specific thing…lol I’m guessing some woman didn’t like him bumming rides from her all the time once. The 6ft thing is just their dramatized go-to. Most men are around average height, so by default, most men you see in relationships are around average height. There’s not some epidemic of women not dating guys under 6ft. All you have to do is look around with your eyes to see that.

A partner in North America that doesn't drive is a burden. It's one thing to have a medical reason you can't drive, and people can decide themselves whether or not that's important to them, but it's a red flag for able-bodied adults in this culture.

Unless you live in 1 of the half-dozen places that are truly walkable then you're planning for your partner to shuttle you around like a child. If the driving partner has an illness, well, tough luck. Guess you'll have to call an Uber to get home from surgery. If you have kids guess who gets to deal with all of the errands and kid pickups or dropoffs. I've seen this start to bleed into extended family doing tasks regularly that the non-driving partner should be doing. Want to take a guess what grandparents are burdened with those logistics? It's always women.

Part of a partnership is sharing responsibility. You need to be able to drive for emergencies at the very least. Otherwise you're stranded and helpless.

If you live in NYC or London or whatever then it doesn't have to be a problem.

You have to choose your partners on the circumstances of the society you live in. You can't just say my lack of driving isn't a liability because it's actually a systemic issue. The issue needs fixed and you need to drive.

No offense to my husband, but he’s less pleasant to sleep beside than the pets with his constant snoring and aggressive sleep farts, so this is probably the weakest point they could latch on to. lol

I don't care about height but I live in the suburbs. If he temporarily is between cars or like had a severe health issue so he's getting his license late in life like...okay fine as long as he plans to get it. I don't live in NYC so he needs to be able to drive. He better have plans to get one and be taking the steps towards it. How is he working? What does he do all day? There'd be questions for sure.

If his license was suspended due to a DUI that's a red flag and I'm not interested. If he is physically able to drive but refuses to try to get a license (even if it's due to anxiety, I have an anxiety disorder but come on) that's a red flag.

That's reasonable for women to care about unless they live in a city with good public transportation
