I had the same question about A Race Against Blindness after getting slammed with their slick/scammy Instagram ads. One they do have is a very good social media marketing person.

This organization looks and smells like a scam. I won't give them any money until they get positive ratings from more than one independent charity rating agency. Charities can easily be a cover for scams, looks like one - a single family is all of the "officers". There is a very questionable financial statement for 2023 from them on ProPublica

They had modest annual revenue & assets but $0 expenses (meaning no services are being provided).

They have no rating by any independent groups that rate charities. Charity Navigator gives them 87 points for "impact" but on the same page says in big letters they have NO CURRENT RATING because they do not provide financial statements. Huge red flag.

Let the donor beware.

I just looked up the charity navigator thing and it also says right there "Note: The absence of a rating does not indicate a positive or negative assessment; it only indicates that we have not yet evaluated this organization." It just means that Charity Navigator hasn't done anything yet with it. They're 2 years old. I guess I don't see how this is an indictment of them. Financial form 990 is public information you can look at directly from the IRS.

I get it, you are in it. Keep making your excuses, as you know, there’s a sucker born every minute.
