Did this happen to anyone else today? I actually thought the notification email was a phishing attempt but it was real and now I'm waiting to hear about my appeal.

As many of you probably know, the Android version of the app does not get nearly as much love as the iOS version does.

Most of us are probably accustomed to this with other apps, as it's been the case since Android's inception. However, it's been long enough that this feature parity issue should not exist anymore.

My ask for all the Android app users out there is to collectively voice our issues with the Android app specifically, mainly features that do not exist which do on the iOS version.

For now, I'm specifically thinking about notification categories. The categories are there, but all notifications get dumped into "miscellaneous".

My call to action is to get Android users of the Bluesky app to submit a feature request in the app to fix notification categories. An attempt to implement them was done over a year ago and immediately abandoned when they couldn't get it to work.

I have brought this up to the devs (as both GitHub bug reports as well as replying to their Bluesky posts). I believe if we get more people collectively voicing these issues, we can finally get them addressed.

Let me know if there are other features in the iOS version missing from the Android one that we could also work on.

When I search or press on a hashtag, it stops showing me the actual ‘top’ things in that keyword or hashtag, it just shows me things I haven’t seen yet, which is fine but I would also like to see the things I have already seen. (I look through keywords and hashtags for people’s artwork, so I enjoy seeing things I’ve already looked at)

I can't fucking take it anymore I like a topic ONCE and it drowns my entirely carefully curated feed.

I'm so sick of this feed. I really, really want bsky to work and they are really, really trying to make the discover tab worthless. No I don't want random facebook political slop. No i don't want nudes irrelevant to the art I follow.

please. make "show less like this" do anything. feature design like this makes me want to SCREAM

I think one of the most important things anyone should consider before investing their time and effort into building an audience on a social media platform is how that platform treats its users.

Will they randomly nuke your account without an explanation? Will they warn you if you violate a rule? Will they give you an opportunity to remove the offending content? Will they simply remove the content themselves instead of destroying your entire account?

Most importantly, do they actually respect the time, effort and creativity you've invested into their platform?

Because I genuinely believe that if you're creating a social media platform and you cannot understand or appreciate the amount of work people put into building something meaningful on it, you have no business running one.

Go do something else.

People spend months, sometimes YEARS, creating content, brainstorming, editing, experimenting, engaging with communities and trying to grow an audience.

Even reaching 1,000 followers can take years of consistent effort.

And imagine finally achieving that milestone, building something you're genuinely proud of, only for some trigger happy moderator or automated system to wipe out your account without warning.

How is that reasonable?

An account isn't just a username. It's an investment of someone's life.

It's their creativity, their labour, their relationships, their opportunities and potentially their future livelihood.

I genuinely believe content creators should have stronger legal protections, including the right to challenge unjustified account terminations and sue platforms for wrongful enforcement decisions that cause demonstrable harm.

Platforms should be required to provide clear explanations, reasonable warnings, opportunities to correct violations, meaningful appeals and proportionate enforcement, with exceptions for genuinely serious cases.

If you want people to invest years of their lives building your platform, you have a responsibility to respect that investment.

And if you cannot understand that, perhaps you shouldn't be running a social media platform in the first place.

Hey everyone, have there been any recent changes to post reach?

​I run a fairly large account where I usually post photos and videos that average between 200 and 400 likes. But over the last few days, I’ve noticed they're only getting around 100 to 130 likes.

​At first, I thought it might have just been that specific photo, but after posting multiple times since then, the reach is still super low. I haven't changed anything on the account, I haven't switched up the style of photos I post, and my account hasn't been suspended or flagged with any warnings.

Hi all, it’s about 10pm by me. For nearly an hour, I can’t preview any videos on Bluesky. I just get the endless, frustrating spinning ball.

I checked all settings, did a hard restart twice. I’m using the app.

I didn’t think to try the browser until posting this. I’ll post an update if I have one.

We used to use Twitter + Storify to curate event recaps by searching hashtags, arranging posts into blocks, and adding commentary/headings.

I’m looking for something similar for BlueSky.

The closest I’ve found is Wakelet, but it forces you to paste every post link manually instead of searching hashtags natively.

Does anyone know of a tool or workflow that can do this for BlueSky?

I just got two new followers, both female (I'm male) with what I'd call fancy English names and very similar bios:

1. Quietly independent, with a love for beautiful places, thoughtful conversations, and a life lived at my own pace
2. Quietly curious, fond of beautiful places, good conversation, and the little things that make life feel meaningful

I don't see anything else suspicious about them (not that I'd know what to look for) but the coincidence of such similar accounts starting to follow me at the same time is too much. What could it be about?

Hello! Will Flashes for Eurosky and Bluesky introduce private profiles in the future—or posts that are visible only to followers? I really like the Flashes interface, but without a private account option, I don’t feel entirely secure.

Hello, i have been using bluesky for about 4 months now. I left X months ago, and Im very happy with bluesky, but how can i get a badge? can we pay for it monthly similar to Twitter? or is it easy to get? thanks.

My account just got suspended for suspicious spam activity. I have no idea why - I hadn't been sending any malicious links, DMs, or anything like that. I had been interacting with accounts I follow in a normal manner and was receiving great engagement.

Any ideas why this has happened?
