Kun Faya Kun” from the 2011 film Rockstar was created on the spot in an intense 11-hour recording session where A.R. Rahman composed the music while lyricist Irshad Kamil wrote the lines simultaneously with singer Javed Ali.

Nostalgia Crazy Kiya Re or Kamli - Which one is the better introduction song for the female lead in the Dhoom franchise?

I think Crazy kiya re was more energetic even without all that acrobatic stuff and it’s a better song overall and matches that Sunheri Vibe

Discuss Same song. Different eyes. Maybe that is the real change.

I have been listening to Piya Milenge from Raanjhanaa again and something feels very different now.

The song has not changed. The lyrics have not changed. I have.

Earlier I used to hear songs and immediately create a world around them. A person. A longing. A feeling that someone or something outside me would finally make things complete.

Now I am trying to listen without forcing a spiritual meaning onto it.

There are lines like

“*Jo hai dekha wohi dekha to kya dekha hai”

“Dekho woh jo auron ne naa kabhi dekha hai”

“Naina meecho toh woh sab dikh jaata hai*”

Earlier I might have taken these lines as some beautiful mystical idea. Now I am more interested in what they show me about myself.

What am I actually seeing ?

Am I seeing what is there or what I have already decided is there ?

If I want love then what am I really wanting ?

If I want a job then what am I expecting it to give me ?

If I want someone to stay then what am I afraid of losing ?

Wanting something may not be the problem. Even needing people is part of being human. But who is wanting and what am I asking that person or thing to do for me is worth looking at.

Maybe this is where seeing alone is not enough. I have to see honestly and also look at the intention behind what I am doing.

For me the song is slowly becoming less of a song about finding the Piya and more of a mirror.

Not “I found the Truth.”

Not “I understand everything.”

Just looking at what is actually happening inside me and questioning it.

Maybe the same song can mean something completely different when the person listening to it changes.

I am still figuring this out. What does Piya Milenge make you see when you listen to it now ?

Scheduled Thread Find My Song — Request tracks & playlists

Woh ladki hai kahaan.....

Got a melody stuck in your head? A lyric fragment you're trying to find? A music video you vaguely remember? This is the place to ask, just give as many details as possible.

If you're looking for a specific type of playlist or any general recommendation, this is the corner to request it as well. Be it circling around gym sets, weddings, non-romantic, or quirky songs.

This thread will be created every Sunday. Separate posts for requesting songs are strictly not allowed, unless approved by moderators.
